What it is, in a minute
ATOTO CB7 family is a smart plug-in brain for cars whose head units already support wired Apple CarPlay or wired Android Auto. Plug CB7 into the CarPlay/AA USB port and you get a wireless CarPlay adapter and Android Auto wireless adapter, unlocking full Android functionality.
● Wireless CarPlay & Wireless Android Auto (no more phone cables).
● A stand-alone Android system on your car’s screen for apps, video, and expandability.
● Multiple ways to get online: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth tethering, and built-in cellular (LTE on most SKUs; optional 5G on specific CB7 models).
You keep the simplicity of CarPlay/AA when you want it, and unlock full Android when you need more.
Why not just a basic “wireless adapter”?
Simple adapters, like a typical carplay wireless adapter, only remove the cable. CB7 goes much further: it acts as a wireless CarPlay adapter and adds a real Android desktop to your factory screen, letting you run popular video apps, enhanced navigation, utilities, and ATOTO’s own tools. For apps that don’t show up in Play Store on in-vehicle devices, ATOTO’s FindApps makes installation straightforward (subject to each service’s terms and regional availability).
Two lines available under the hood
● CB7S — Qualcomm QCM6125, Android 13
Great value. LTE with cloud-based virtual SIM support (activate data in-app; no card required).
Dual-Bluetooth design: one radio dedicated to CarPlay/AA authentication + hands-free/audio; a second system Bluetooth handles USB/Bluetooth tethering and BLE accessories (OBD, lights, etc.), reducing interference during busy use.
● CB7 — Qualcomm QCM6350 (newer 8 nm platform), Android 15
Higher headroom for multitasking and longevity. LTE standard, and on “F” variants you get 5G. All CB7 models include AHD camera video input by default (details below).
Both lines offer 4 GB RAM+64 GB storage or 8 GB+128 GB. Choose 8+128 GB if you juggle many apps or cache lots of offline content.
Ports, cameras & second screens
● HDMI OUTPUT → drive a second display (perfect for a headrest/visor screen).
● HDMI INPUT → bring in an external source (game console, TV stick, etc.).
● AHD camera input → plug in a front or accessory camera (including wireless-camera receivers with AHD output).
○ CB7: AHD input is standard on every model.
○ CB7S: AHD input depends on the exact SKU.
Safety note: obey local laws—video playback should not be visible to the driver while the vehicle is in motion.
ATOTO software & expandability (why CB7 feels “alive”)
● DriveChat (powered by GPT): talk naturally to ask for help, answers, planning, and to trigger supported CB7-box functions by voice. (Controls apply to the CB7 box itself, not the native car stereo.)
● TrackHU: GPS-based location, geofences, and route history for your vehicle/box.
● CIotHub: pair Bluetooth-enabled accessories (e.g., OBD readers, LED ambient lights) for on-screen control and status—and voice control via DriveChat where supported.
● OTA updates: ongoing feature additions and bug fixes. (Planned upgrades include more “agent-like” abilities in DriveChat.)
Compatibility & installation tips
● Works with:
○ OEM head units that support wired CarPlay or wired Android Auto
○ Aftermarket head units (any brand) that support wired CarPlay/Android Auto
● Power matters: some factory USB ports can’t deliver enough current for a busy, app-heavy session. We include a Y-cable—use it to feed separate power from a 12 V USB fast-charger while leaving data on the head unit’s USB. If you see reboots or instability, switch to the Y-cable setup.
How to read the model names (CB7S)
Two exterior designs (“molds”): M (rectangular, car-like profile) and N (edgier hex/prismatic look).
For CB7S M-mold names you’ll see these letters:
● SA / SB = memory: SA = 4 + 64, SB = 8 + 128
● T = HDMI Out
● N = HDMI In
● X = HDMI Out + HDMI In + AHD camera input (all three)
In-stock CB7S examples:
● CB7SATN — M-mold, 4 + 64, HDMI Out + HDMI In
● CB7SAX — M-mold, 4 + 64, HDMI Out + HDMI In + AHD in
● CB7SBX — M-mold, 8 + 128, HDMI Out + HDMI In + AHD in
● CB7SCX — N-mold, 4 + 64, HDMI Out + HDMI In + AHD in
● CB7SDX — N-mold, 8 + 128, HDMI Out + HDMI In + AHD in
How to read the model names (CB7)
Letters map cleanly to features across two molds:
● A / B → M-mold (A = 4 + 64, B = 8 + 128)
● C / D → N-mold (C = 4 + 64, D = 8 + 128)
● V → adds HDMI Out + HDMI In
● (no V) → no HDMI
● F → adds 5G (otherwise cellular is LTE)
Examples
● CB7AVF — M-mold, 4 + 64, HDMI In/Out, 5G
● CB7BV — M-mold, 8 + 128, HDMI In/Out, LTE
● CB7C — N-mold, 4 + 64, no HDMI, LTE
● CB7DVF — N-mold, 8 + 128, HDMI In/Out, 5G
(All CB7 models have AHD camera input standard.)
Quick buyer’s guide (pick in 3 steps)
1. Performance & longevity
● Want the newest Android (15) and the most headroom? Choose CB7.
● Want a great value and don’t need 5G? Choose CB7S (Android 13).
2. Connectivity
● Mostly stream on the road? Pick a CB7 “F” model for 5G.
● Mostly on home/phone Wi-Fi or Bluetooth tethering? LTE is enough (CB7 or CB7S).
3. Ports / use cases
● Rear-seat entertainment (second screen): need HDMI Out
○ CB7: choose a V model (e.g., CB7BV, CB7DVF)
○ CB7S: look for T or X (e.g., CB7SBX, CB7SCX)
● Bring in a game console/TV stick: need HDMI In
○ CB7: choose V
○ CB7S: choose N or X (e.g., CB7SATN, CB7SAX)
● Add a front/aux camera (AHD):
○ CB7: any model works (AHD standard)
○ CB7S: choose X variants (AX/BX/CX/DX)
Memory choice:
● 4 GB + 64 GB: everyday CarPlay/AA, a handful of apps.
● 8 GB + 128 GB: heavy video apps, multitasking, offline downloads.
Recommended picks by scenario
● Top versatility, future-proofing: CB7DVF (N-mold, 8 + 128, HDMI In/Out, 5G, AHD).
● Value all-rounder with all ports: CB7SBX (M-mold, 8 + 128, HDMI In/Out + AHD).
● Camera-focused without HDMI: Any CB7 A/B/C/D (non-V)—AHD comes standard.
● Rear-seat streaming on a budget: CB7SCX (N-mold, 4 + 64, HDMI In/Out + AHD).
Practical notes, FAQs
● Does it work with my car?
If your head unit supports wired CarPlay or wired Android Auto, yes—OEM or aftermarket.
● Do I need a SIM card?
CB7S supports cloud virtual SIM activation in-app (no physical card). CB7 models provide LTE by default and 5G on F variants; SIM provisioning varies by SKU/region.
● Can I use USB tethering and wireless CarPlay together?
Yes—USB/Bluetooth tethering keeps the Android side online while Wi-Fi is reserved for CarPlay/Android Auto.
● Voice control scope?
DriveChat operates CB7/CB7S box functions (not the native car stereo).
● What if the USB port under-powers the box?
Use the included Y-cable to add a dedicated power feed from a 12 V fast charger.
● Support & warranty: ATOTO adds +6 months on top of the standard warranty and offers self-service help. A support specialist aims to respond within 24 business hours.
