2.3 Before installation

Before installation, please make sure your vehicle or head unit is compatible with the device.

1)  Compatibility Requirement:

The device is compatible with car stereos that support wired CarPlay or wired Android Auto (at least one wired connection is required).

2)  Power Supply Requirement

For stable operation, the device requires a stable power supply of 5V / 1A.

If the vehicle's USB port cannot provide sufficient and stable power, please use the provided Y-shaped power cable to connect to an additional power source.

3)  Control Requirement:

Your car stereo must also meet at least one of the following conditions:

① The stereo supports direct on-screen touch control.

② If it does not, the stereo must have a touchpad or remote control for navigation.

Certain aftermarket head units may experience protocol incompatibility or unstable connections. If this occurs, please contact the Customer Support for further assistance.

● Try “Link” app again: Tap the “Link” or similar app on the original head unit to manually access the AI Box.

● Restart devices: Power off the AI Box and original head unit for 10 seconds, then reconnect.

Issue 3: The AI Box loses power after being used for a while

Reason & Solution:

● Insufficient or unstable power supply: For stable operation, the AI Box requires a stable 5V / 1A power supply. If necessary, please use the provided Y-shaped power cable to ensure adequate and stable power.

● Overheating due to poor ventilation. Avoid placing the AI Box in enclosed spaces like glove boxes or armrests.

Issue 4: The AI Box disconnects and restarts when releasing the brake pedal at a stoplight

Reason:

● Vehicles with a Start-Stop system automatically turn off the engine at temporary stops. When the engine restarts, the battery may experience a brief voltage drop, causing the AI Box to reset.

Solution:

● Confirm whether your vehicle has a Start-Stop system.

● If yes, try disabling the Start-Stop system.

● If the problem is resolved, check whether the Start-Stop function can be permanently or manually turned off.

2. Network & Internet Issues

Issues1: The AI Box cannot connect to Wi-Fi

Reason & Solution:

Wrong password, out of range, interference: Verify Wi-Fi SSID and password. Move closer to router or hotspot.

Issues2: Mobile data not working

Reason & Solution:

SIM not activated, unsupported carrier, PIN locked: Use activated data-only SIM. Check LTE band compatibility. Disable SIM PIN. Verify carrier supports the AI Box IMEI.

3. Bluetooth Issues

Issues1: Bluetooth fails to pair

Reason & Solution:

● The AI Box or phone may already be connected to another device: Disconnect the current Bluetooth connection before pairing again.

● Device not in range or not discoverable: Enable Bluetooth on both the AI Box and phone. Ensure device is discoverable and within range.

Issues2: Bluetooth screen lock not working

Reason & Solution:

Device not paired or out of range: Ensure phone is paired with the AI Box. Enable Bluetooth unlocking in BT Lock app.

4. CarPlay / Android Auto Connection Issues

Issue1:Wireless CarPlay/Android Auto cannot connect

Reason & Solution:

Bluetooth or Wi-Fi not enabled, device not compatible: Enable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on both phone and the AI Box. Ensure phone is not connected to other networks. Pair device.

Issue2:LED indicator flashes slowly

Reason & Solution:

Unable to connect to CarPlay / Android Auto: Check phone compatibility (iOS 9+ for CarPlay; Android 11+ for Android Auto; older devices may have limited support). Reboot the AI Box and retry connection

5. GPS & Location Issues

Issue1: GPS signal weak or slow

Reason & Solution:

● The AI Box GPS obstructed: Place the AI Box near car air vent for better reception.

● Car GPS not enabled: If GPS acquisition remains slow, use the vehicle’s original GPS antenna for improved performance.

Note: the AI Box can only access basic location information (latitude and longitude) from the original GPS. (See 3.1.3 for details)

Issue2: Location-based apps not functioning

Reason & Solution:

GPS disabled or app permissions not granted: Enable Location in Settings > More > Location > Use location. Grant location permission to apps.

6. TF Card Issues

Issue: Cannot play media files

Reason & Solution:

● Unsupported file format. Supported video formats: TS, 3G2, AVI, MKV, WEBM, MPG, MOV, 3GP. Supported audio formats: MP3, OGG, FLAC. Convert the file if necessary.

● Unsupported file system. Replace the TF card with one formatted in a supported file system.

7. HDMI IN Function Issues

Issue: HDMI IN Function Not Working

Reason & Solution:

● The system is currently using the DVR video input:

The DVR video input and HDMI IN functions are mutually exclusive.

Please disable or disconnect the DVR camera if you want to use the HDMI IN function.

● No image displayed or abnormal display:

The connected HDMI source device does not support 1080P output, or is set to output 720P or another unsupported resolution.

Set the HDMI source device to 1080P output, or use a device that supports 1080P.

Most devices that support higher resolutions will automatically fall back to 1080P for compatibility.

●The HDMI cable is not properly connected or is faulty:

Reconnect the HDMI cable firmly, or try a different HDMI cable.

8. SIM (EIOTCLUB) Issues

Important Note (Service Disclaimer)

The included EIOTCLUB SIM card and its data plans are provided and managed by EIOTCLUB as a third-party service.

If you encounter activation, plan, payment, or service quality issues, please contact the SIM service provider for support.

Issue 1: No mobile network / no signal icon after inserting the SIM

Possible Causes:

● SIM card is not activated, or the trial package has expired.

● SIM card inserted in the wrong orientation / not fully seated.

● Local carrier coverage is weak in the current area.

Solution:

● Confirm the SIM is activated (scan the QR code / follow the activation guide), and check plan status in the EIOTCLUB app/service page.

● Power off the device, reinsert the SIM correctly, then reboot.

● Move to an area with better LTE coverage and retry.

Issue 2: SIM works on a phone but not on the AI Box / keeps prompting or fails to connect

Possible Causes:

● SIM has PIN lock enabled (the AI Box does not support entering SIM PIN).

● SIM is data-restricted by the provider (IoT plan policy / APN provisioning / region restriction).

Solution:

● Insert the SIM into a phone, disable SIM PIN, then move the SIM back to the AI Box and reboot.

● Confirm the plan supports data usage on IoT devices in your region. If unsure, contact the SIM provider.

Issue 3: Data is very slow / unstable connection / frequent dropouts

Possible Causes:

● Network congestion or weak LTE signal.

● Trial package throttling or plan limit reached.

● Device installed in a location with poor reception (enclosed spaces).

Solution:

● Relocate the box for better reception (avoid glove box/armrest; place closer to open area).

● Check remaining data / speed policy in the EIOTCLUB service page or app.

● If stability is critical, use Wi-Fi or a reliable hotspot as an alternative.
