Chapter 4 Bluetooth
This device is equipped with a single Bluetooth 5.4 module that integrates the functions of both Hands-Free Bluetooth and System Bluetooth. It supports phone calls, music playback, peripheral connections, file transfer, and Bluetooth tethering, offering a comprehensive wireless experience.
Primary Uses
① Hands-Free Calls – Make and receive phone calls safely while driving.
② Music Streaming (A2DP: Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) – Stream high-quality audio from smartphones or other compatible devices.
③ Auto Screen Lock – Automatically unlocks the screen when a paired Bluetooth device (e.g., your phone) is nearby and locks it when the device is out of range (if configured in Screen Lock settings).
Note for Bluetooth Auto Screen Lock:
The default initial password for the A5L Bluetooth Auto Screen Lock is 0123.
If you forget the Bluetooth Auto Screen Lock password and cannot enter the device, tap the Delete / X icon six times in a row on the password input screen. A Factory Data Reset prompt will appear. Follow the on-screen instructions to reset the device.
④ File Transmission – Transfer files between your phone and the head unit.
⑤ BLE Device Connection – Pair with Bluetooth-enabled devices like OBD2 tools, keyboards, mice, ambient lighting, etc.
⑥ Bluetooth Tethering – Share your phone’s internet connection with the head unit.
Important Note:
For the best Bluetooth hands-free call quality, make sure the microphone is working properly before regular use. The A5L uses the built-in microphone for Bluetooth hands-free calls and voice commands. If an external microphone is connected to the MIC input, make sure it is firmly inserted and installed in a suitable location.
Do not place the external microphone too far from the driver, too close to a window, or near a speaker, as this may cause low voice pickup, echo, or background noise. For best results, install the microphone near the driver, such as on or near the driver-side sun visor, and point the microphone head toward the driver’s face.
If the other party cannot hear your voice clearly, if there is excessive microphone noise, or if the microphone does not work properly during Bluetooth calls, try the following checks:
① Test the microphone during a normal Bluetooth phone call.
② If an external microphone is used, hold it closer to your mouth and make another test call. If the voice quality improves, reinstall the microphone in a better location.
③ Disconnect the external microphone and test the call again using only the built-in microphone. This helps determine whether the issue is related to the external microphone or its installation.
④ Test Bluetooth calls with another phone to check whether the issue is related to the phone, Bluetooth permissions, call app, or phone system settings.
⑤ Restart the head unit. If the system does not respond normally, press and hold the Reset button or reset hole on the front panel for about 15–20 seconds, then test the microphone again.
⑥ Check whether a newer system version is available from Settings > System > About Device > Wireless Update, and install the latest available update if prompted. System updates may include microphone noise reduction improvements, Bluetooth call optimization, and other stability improvements.
⑦ If the issue remains, perform a Factory Data Reset from Settings > System > Reset options > Factory Data Reset.
Note:
A Factory Data Reset erases all personal data, apps, and settings from the device. Back up important files before proceeding.

Chapter 12 DSP App (Built-in DSP: Digital Signal Processor)
This chapter provides a systematic overview of the core functions for in-car audio tuning. The built-in Digital Signal Processor (DSP) offers a wide range of audio customization options through its dedicated application. Users can conveniently access the DSP functions via shortcut entries located on the Titan series car stereo’s home screen, radio interface, music interface, and the Quick Settings Panel (Control Center). The DSP app includes features such as Equalizer (EQ), Listening Position, Output Volume, and Crossover Settings, allowing users to tailor the sound according to different music genres, in-car spatial layouts, and personal listening preferences.
12.1 EQ Settings (Frequency Bands Settings)
The EQ (Equalizer) function is a core module of the Android head unit audio tuning system.
In the field of audio processing, an equalizer is a device or functional module that adjusts the gain or attenuation of sound signals across different frequency bands.
With EQ, users can selectively boost or reduce the volume of bass, midrange, and treble frequencies—for example, enhancing the low-frequency impact of drum beats or making vocal midrange clearer. This not only optimizes overall sound quality and meets personalized listening preferences, but is also commonly used to reduce environmental noise and compensate for deficiencies in the frequency response of audio equipment. Key Features:
● Multi-Band Adjustment: Supports fine-tuning of various audio frequency bands. Users can independently adjust the gain of low, mid, and high frequencies to achieve more precise sound optimization—such as enhancing the low-frequency punch of drum beats or making vocals in the midrange clearer.
● Preset Sound Modes: Includes multiple built-in sound presets (e.g., Standard, Pop, Rock, Classical, Jazz, Soft, Hall, Cinema), with “Standard” as the default mode. Users can easily switch between them according to different music styles or personal preferences.
● Custom EQ Settings: In addition to built-in presets, users can manually adjust the parameters of each frequency band and save their settings as custom sound profiles for quick access in the future.
● Real-Time Visual Adjustment: The EQ interface typically features a graphical frequency response curve, allowing users to visually monitor changes in gain for each band and make more accurate sound adjustments.
● Integration with Other Audio Settings: The EQ settings can be linked with other audio features such as Listening Position, Output Volume, and Crossover Settings, forming a complete and flexible sound optimization solution.

Titan series car stereo supports a 32-band frequency equalizer, allowing users to adjust the gain (boost) or attenuation (cut) of specific audio frequency bands to optimize the sound profile.
On the EQ Adjustment Interface:
Area A displays the EQ preset name (e.g., Standard, Pop, Rock, etc.).
Area B shows the real-time frequency response curve.
Area C provides access to EQ band adjustment.
The specific features are as follows:
① Real-Time Frequency Response Curve Display (Area B):
The graphical interface dynamically reflects the effects of adjustments, intuitively presenting changes in the audio output. The horizontal axis represents different frequencies (20 Hz to 20 kHz, covering the audible range of the human ear), while the vertical axis represents the gain/attenuation levels (from -15 to 15). The color variations correspond to the adjustment intensity at different EQ frequency points.
② Frequency Band Adjustment (Area C):
a. On the Titan series car stereo, the EQ adjustment interface provides gain/attenuation controls (ranging from -15 to 15) for multiple frequency bands, typically covering 20 Hz to 20 kHz. The first page allows adjustment from 20 Hz to 630 Hz, and by tapping
button to the second page, you can adjust from 800 Hz to 20 kHz.

b. Adjust the gain or attenuation of a specific audio frequency by moving the slider. Slide it upward to boost the frequency, or downward to reduce it.
Operation Steps:
Step 1: Access EQ
Navigation Path: Home Screen > APP Drawer > DSP App > EQ
Step 2: Set EQ Preset
In Area A of the EQ Adjustment Interface, Tap the preset name “Standard”, then, you can choose from Custom, Standard, Pop, Rock, Classical, Jazz, Soft, Hall, and Cinema modes, with Standard set as the default.
Step 3: Set Custom EQ Effects
① Manual Mode (in Area B): When "U1," "U2," or "U3" is selected, manual mode is enabled, allowing users to make custom adjustments. After completing the adjustments for "U1," "U2," or "U3," long press the corresponding button to save the current settings.
② Adjust the Gain (Increase or decrease the volume of different frequency bands):
Adjust the gain or attenuation (ranging from -15dB to 15dB) of specific audio frequency bands by moving the sliders up or down (in Area C). This applies to multiple frequency bands, typically covering the 20 Hz to 20 kHz range. Slide upward or downward to increase or decrease the volume of that frequency band. The graphical interface dynamically updates the frequency response curve in real time, visually reflecting the changes in the audio output.
Step 4: Set FC Value (FC = Center Frequency)
Tap the corresponding “value” button (in Area E) to open the FC value setting interface, where you can set different frequencies. The FC value typically ranges from 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz (20 kHz), covering the majority of frequencies audible to the human ear.
Note: In the EQ (Equalizer) function of Android car head unit, the “FC Value” refers to the “Center Frequency”.
① Definition of FC (Center Frequency):
The FC value indicates the “central frequency point” at which gain (boost) or attenuation (cut) is applied during EQ adjustment.
② Function Explanation:
● When adjusting the gain or attenuation of an EQ band, the system uses the FC value as the “center point” and affects that frequency and the surrounding range.
● The “width” of the affected range is determined by the “Q value (Quality Factor)”, while the “FC value determines the specific frequency” being targeted.
Example:
If FC = 1000 Hz, Q = 1.0, and Gain = +5, this means the system boosts the audio around 1000 Hz. The actual affected range depends on the Q value—for instance, it may cover frequencies from several hundred Hz to a few kHz.
Step 5: Set Q Value
Tap the corresponding “value” button (in Area F) to open the Q value setting interface, where you can set different frequencies, typically covering the 0.4 to 12.
Note: In the EQ (Equalizer) function of an Android head unit, the “Q value (Quality Factor)” refers to the “bandwidth range” affected by the gain or attenuation applied to a specific frequency.
The Q factor reflects the amount of curve bending in a frequency response and is used to set the width of the EQ curve, determining the frequency range affected when gain or attenuation is applied at the center frequency (FC).
The Q factor is inversely proportional to bandwidth: a higher Q value selects a narrower frequency range, meaning adjustments affect only a narrow band around the center frequency, concentrating the sound change at specific frequencies; a lower Q value selects a wider range, affecting a broader band around the center frequency.
Detailed Explanation:
When the center frequency (FC) is 375 Hz and the Q factor is 1, the calculated bandwidth (B) is 375 Hz, with cutoff frequencies at 188 Hz and 562 Hz. This means that the frequency range extending from 188 Hz to 562 Hz around the 375 Hz center frequency will be affected by the adjustment.
By adjusting the Q value in the EQ settings of the Android head unit, users can “fine-tune the audio output with greater precision”, whether for enhancement, reduction, or subtle audio shaping.
Note: Tap the EQ “Reset” button (in Area C) to restore the default settings.
12.2 Listening Position Settings
The Listening Position Settings feature allows users to optimize the in-car sound field by adjusting audio output timing and volume balance based on the seating position. ⑤ Support for Active Audio Systems: Ideal for active audio setups where external amplifiers and DSPs are used to manage speaker output with precision.
3-Way Crossover Output (Three-Way Frequency Division) (Area F)
The Android head unit supports 3-Way Crossover Output, allowing the full-range audio signal to be split into three separate frequency bands— “high”, “mid”, and “low”—and independently routed to corresponding speaker drivers (tweeters, midrange, and woofers). This feature is specifically designed for high-fidelity active sound systems, providing greater precision and flexibility in audio tuning. Key Features:
① Three Frequency Bands Division:
The system uses high-pass, band-pass, and low-pass filters to divide the full-range signal into:
● High Frequency → Tweeters
● Mid Frequency → Midrange Speakers
● Low Frequency → Woofers/Subwoofers
② Customizable Crossover Points: Users can fine-tune the crossover frequency and slope (dB/oct) for each band to suit different speaker types and listening preferences.
③ Independent Channel Assignment: Each output channel can be independently configured for high, mid, or low frequencies, and can be set separately for left and right channels. This ensures full compatibility with a variety of speaker setups.

⑤ Improved Audio Clarity and Separation: By assigning specific frequencies to dedicated speaker drivers, the system reduces distortion and phase interference, resulting in clearer and more detailed sound reproduction.
High Pass/Low Pass Frequency Settings (Area B)
The High Pass and Low Pass Frequency adjustments allow users to configure these parameters and precisely control the frequency range delivered to each speaker unit, optimizing the overall sound performance and extending the lifespan of the speakers.
① High Pass Frequency (Typical Range: 20 Hz to 20 kHz)
Function: Allows users to set the cutoff frequency of the high-pass filter, so that only audio signals above the specified frequency are passed to the speaker, while signals below that frequency are attenuated or filtered out.
Application: Mainly used to protect tweeter speakers, preventing low-frequency signals from being input and causing distortion or damage; commonly used for front door speakers or tweeter units.
Adjustable Parameters:
● Crossover Point: Common values include 100Hz, 150Hz, 200Hz, etc.
● Slope: Options like 12dB/oct, 24dB/oct, etc., determine how quickly the signal attenuates.
② Low Pass Frequency: Typical Range: 20 Hz to 20 kHz)
Function: Allows users to set the cutoff frequency of the low-pass filter so that only audio signals below the set frequency are sent to the speakers, especially subwoofers, while signals above that frequency are attenuated or filtered out.
Typical Application: Ensures that woofers or subwoofers only play low-frequency ranges, reducing high-frequency noise and enhancing bass performance.
Adjustable Parameters:
● Crossover Point: Common settings include 80Hz, 100Hz, 120Hz, etc.
● Slope: Available options such as 12dB/oct, 24dB/oct, etc.
Slope and Through Adjustment (Area B)
In the crossover adjustment interface of the Android head unit, Slope and Through adjustment functions allow users to fine-tune how audio signals are distributed. These parameters directly influence the signal attenuation rate and whether the crossover is bypassed, playing a key role in achieving high-fidelity sound tuning.
① Slope Adjustment
● Definition: Refers to the rate of signal attenuation after the crossover point, typically measured in decibels per octave (dB/oct).
● Common Settings: 6dB/oct, 12dB/oct, 18dB/oct, 24dB/oct, 36dB/oct, 48dB/oct.
Functionality:
● A higher slope value (e.g., 24dB/oct or more) means faster frequency attenuation after the crossover point, which helps reduce frequency overlap and intermodulation distortion.
● A lower slope value offers a smoother transition between frequency bands, ideal for more natural sound blending.
② Through Mode
Definition:
In this mode, the signal bypasses the high-pass or low-pass filter, meaning no crossover is applied and the full frequency range is sent directly to the speaker.
Use Cases:
● Ideal when an external DSP or amplifier has already handled the crossover;
● Suitable for testing or full-range speaker outputs;
● Provides maximum system flexibility and compatibility.
Operation Steps:
It is recommended to play music in the background while performing the following settings to achieve a sound effect that better suits your preferences.

⑤ CAN Bus Settings
Tap Canbus settings to configure the vehicle CAN protocol.
Select the configuration that matches the vehicle make, model, and installed CAN bus interface.
After the CAN bus wiring and protocol are configured correctly, supported vehicle information can be displayed and used by the car stereo.
Note:
Available vehicle data and functions depend on the vehicle, CAN bus interface, and selected CAN protocol.
Chapter 25 Car Info
The Car Info app is used to view vehicle protocol information, device information, vehicle configuration, and related CAN Bus function settings.
Car Info depends on the selected CAN Bus protocol. If No Protocol is selected, the Car Info app will be hidden by default. The climate control bar at the bottom of the screen will also be hidden.
After the correct vehicle protocol is selected, the Car Info app will appear in the app list. Tap Car Info to open the app and view device information, protocol information, vehicle model information, and related settings.
The system may come with a default vehicle protocol selected based on the target market or vehicle application. For example, the default protocol may be set for Ford Explorer 2015–2021. Always confirm that the selected protocol matches the vehicle model, model year, and factory configuration.

Note: Car Info functions may vary by vehicle model, trim level, factory equipment, and selected CAN Bus protocol. Some functions may appear in the Car Info app but may not respond if the original vehicle does not support that function.
25.1 Capturing Car Info Logs
If a factory function worked on the original radio but does not work after installing this head unit, use the Capture logs function to record the issue for technical support.
① Open the Car Info app.
② Tap Capture logs.
③ When the permission prompt appears, tap Allow one-time access.
④ Operate the function that is not working correctly. Repeat the operation 2–3 times so the system can record the issue.
⑤ Tap the log upload icon.
⑥ When the upload prompt appears, tap Upload.
⑦ After the log is uploaded, contact customer support and provide the approximate upload time. This helps the engineering team locate and analyze the log.

25.2 Car Info Online Update
The Car Info app also supports online CAN Bus protocol updates. This function can be used when a retained factory function does not work correctly, and a protocol update is required.
① Make sure the head unit is connected to the internet.
② Open the Car Info app.
③ Tap Online upgrade.
④ On the CAN Update screen, tap Check version or Check for updates.
⑤ If a newer version is available, follow the on-screen instructions to download and install the update.
⑥ After the update is complete, restart the head unit if prompted, then test the retained factory functions again.
Important: Do not turn off the head unit, disconnect power, or operate other functions during the update. Interrupting the update may cause the CAN Bus protocol function to work abnormally.

Chapter 26 CPU Fan
The CPU Fan function helps manage the operating temperature of the system.

Operation Logic
1. When the CPU temperature exceeds the set value, the CPU fan will turn on automatically.
2. When the knob pointer is set to OFF, the CPU fan will remain off.
3. When the knob pointer is set to MANUAL, the CPU fan will turn on manually.
