Solves the 12 V outlet inconsistency across vehicles—protects data, preserves battery health, and delivers a fastboot / quick start experience for every drive.
The industry gap AutoNap closes
Consumer adoption of portable in-car displays and AI add-ons is surging, yet vehicles treat the 12 V “cigarette lighter” outlet in two ways: some cut power immediately after lock, others keep it live. The result is abrupt shutdowns, corrupted clips, and unnecessary runtime. AutoNap brings OEM-like behavior to aftermarket devices with intelligent power control and ACC (accessory) signal simulation.
What AutoNap is—at a glance
A plug-in smart power module that sits between the car’s 12 V outlet and your ATOTO device:
Car 12 V outlet → AutoNap → ATOTO device
Inside are a reserve power buffer, Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE), and firmware that simulates ACC on/off. Together they deliver three user-visible wins:
●Clean shutdown, no data loss — When power drops, AutoNap provides a few seconds of reserve so recordings close safely and settings are saved before sleep.
●Fast wake — On the next start, the screen resumes to your last state—an authentic fastboot/quick start feel.
●Phone-aware sleep for always-on outlets — Enable Smart Lock Sleep in the app. When your phone leaves, AutoNap issues a virtual ACC-off so the device sleeps even if the socket stays live; when you return, it wakes.
ACC = “accessory” ignition signal. AutoNap can simulate ACC on/off to enforce proper sleep/wake.
Two outlet types, one consistent behavior
1.Outlet powers off after lock
2. AutoNap completes file writes, then the device sleeps. With the outlet off, there is no path to drain the car battery. Outlet stays on after lock
Enable Smart Lock Sleep. AutoNap uses BLE presence:
Phone leaves → virtual ACC-off → device sleeps.
Phone returns → virtual ACC-on → device wakes.
This fixes the “always-on outlet keeps the screen running” problem—no manual steps required. Why it matters
●Data integrity: No abrupt cuts or corrupted clips; recordings and settings are preserved.
●Battery-friendly by design: Zero draw when the outlet turns off; phone-aware sleep minimizes runtime on always-on outlets.
●Set-and-forget convenience: Behaves like an integrated system on every trip.
●Parking peace of mind: Supports proper sleep and quick resume; any low-power parking features depend on the specific device model.
Compatibility (current planned)
Works with (current):
●ATOTO P10 (P10 Portable wireless CarPlay display)
●ATOTO P6 (P6 Portable Wireless CarPlay screen)
●Select batches of P9
●DVP5 (On-dash camera 5-inch CP/AA 2-in-1 screen)
●CB8 (ATOTO Wireless CarPlay Android AI Box)
Coming next (timelines vary):
●M2S / M2P Car AI Assistant series
Internal nickname: “Cupholder Remote Power”—the module sits neatly in a cupholder area while it manages power and BLE logic.
Quick start (about 5 minutes)
1.Plug in: Car 12 V outlet → AutoNap → ATOTO device.
2.Pair in app: Follow on-screen steps to connect via BLE.
3.Choose outlet type:
a. If your outlet powers off after lock: you’re done.
b. If it stays on: enable Smart Lock Sleep.
4.Select a primary phone for presence detection.
5.Test once: Walk away with your phone—the device sleeps; return—it wakes.
Tips for multi-driver households
●If a phone is left in the car, AutoNap will detect presence and keep the device awake; assign one primary phone for consistent behavior.
●Add secondary phones in the app as needed.
What AutoNap is not
●Not an auxiliary battery for hours of parked operation; the reserve is sized for safe file closure and controlled sleep—not long-duration runtime.
●Exact sleep timers and options may vary by device and firmware.
Common questions
Will AutoNap drain my car battery?
●If the outlet turns off after lock: no—there’s no battery path.
●If the outlet stays on: Smart Lock Sleep minimizes runtime by sleeping the device when you leave.
Can it help with parking features?
AutoNap enforces correct sleep/wake and quick resume. Parking-mode functions depend on the device model and its settings. Do I need to press anything each time?
No. Once set, it’s automatic—leave with your phone, the device sleeps; return, it wakes. Outlook
As categories like the P6 Portable Wireless CarPlay screen, P10 Portable wireless CarPlay display, M2P/M2S Car AI Assistant, DVP5, and CB8 continue to expand, reliable power behavior becomes central to user experience. AutoNap delivers an elegant, user-first path to OEM-like operation across mixed vehicle outlets—protecting data, respecting batteries, and keeping every drive ready from the moment you start.
