• Product Model: S8 Ultra (Gen 2); Model: Model No.: S8G2A78UL-A (4GB + 64GB), mounting style: UDH07D (universal 2-DIN head unit with 7-inch display, almost all dash kits with 2-DIN opening are compatible); The letter A in the model name means its 4G cellular modem supports the main frequency bands of major carriers in European and Asian areas, so it might be incompatible with other carriers in North American areas; If you need another version (S8G2A78UL-N) that works with carriers in North American areas, check the alternative listings/ASIN;
• System Information: SoC Chip: UNISOC 7862 ARM Cortex Octa-Core CPU (up to 1.8 GHz) with ARM Mali-G52 MP2 GPU, advanced 12 nm manufacturing process. System version: ATOTO AICE UI 11.0, developed and customized based on Android Q (10.0);
• DSP / Preamplifier: the integrated digital signal processor allows precise equalization, signal delay, bass enhancement, bass filtering. • Bluetooth and radio tuner: dual Bluetooth (BT1 5.0 and BT2 4.1). • Phone mirroring and phone integration link: Phone mirroring - Preinstalled EasyConnect app and supports operation with the latest iOS and Android devices (system firmware update may be required). • Some other features: Quick system start - Start the car and the access system within 2 seconds; Split screen display: allows running a navigation map and another app (like Youtube) on the same screen simultaneously; Volume control with speed compensation (SCVC) - When speed increases, the volume of the head unit increases by a certain percentage, and when slowing down, the volume decreases. This is to compensate for road noise; USB network tethering: sharing phone data with the main unit S8 via USB connection (EasyConnect app); Live RearView (LRV) - Now you can access the rearview even if your vehicle is moving forward. This could remove obstacles like passengers, headrests, the vehicle's roof, and rear pillars, increasing the field of view and allowing the driver an unobstructed view of the lanes behind and traditional blind spots. Gesture Control - Can recognize 9 hand gestures and up to 24 options can be programmed;

Inputs, outputs, and slots

• AUX audio (L/R)/video input; FCAM front camera video input; Rear view camera input (S8 can process HD 720P video signal. Thus, a specific HD rearview camera can be connected to S8 for 720P video display); 4-channel RCA audio out (2v) to connect to factory/aftermarket amplifier; Separate subwoofer out (0.8V); For S8 Ultra, Optical SPDIF Out and Quick Charge interfaces are available; To connect to a headrest monitor, an additional ATOTO video output adapter from USB to HDMI or USB to RCA (not included) is required;
• One Micro SD slot - to store media files and can read up to 512GB of memory card; 4 USB interfaces: 3 for data communication, including reading USB drives (unlimited external storage devices, including portable SSD) and optional USB devices and phone connection for Mirror casting/EasyConnect or Phone Integration Link; 1 USB for fast phone charging.

More than a car radio: install Android apps and connect to various external devices to expand functions

S8 Ultra provides 4 methods for Internet access: Wi-Fi / BT / USB Tethering and built-in 4G cellular modem:

1). Phone cellular data

• S8 allows users to connect to the phone's hotspot via WiFi 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz or Bluetooth tethering for Internet access.
• Running online maps or streaming online music on the Android car radio doesn't require high bandwidth (less than 200kb/s), the Bluetooth tethering connection can handle such demand.
• Compared to WiFi connection, Bluetooth tethering has lower power consumption, so the phone's battery will last much longer while Bluetooth tethering is enabled;
• WiFi connection is simpler as it requires only one step: enable your phone's WLAN hotspot and the WiFi connection is completed within 2-4 seconds; Bluetooth connection requires 2-3 steps;
• USB network tethering is a recently introduced option by ATOTO and allows users to share phone data with S8 via USB connection. This could help save the phone's battery or even increase it slightly; It is sufficient to run the specific EasyConnect application in the background;

2). Built-in 4G cellular modem

• There is a SIM card slot with the unit and requires only Nano size. The SIM with Data Plan is not included in the product package.
• The integrated 4G LTE modem module works with frequency bands supported by most carriers. Supported frequency bands are: 2G: GSM 850, GSM900, GSM1800, GSM1900; 3G WCDMA: B1, B2, B5, B8; 4G: B1, B2, B3, B5, B7, B8, B19, B20, B25, B26, B28A, B28, B34, B38, B39, B40, B41;
• Only carriers that support the bands listed above can allow S8 to access the network. Even if the frequency bands in the list above are supported, if the carrier's communication base station does not cover the places where your vehicle is located, S8 will not be able to access it.

Install countless Android apps from Google Play Store

• More than 1000 Google Play Store apps have been tested for installability on the ATOTO S8 series, particularly media/entertainment apps and navigation apps in the "Auto & Vehicles" category. Very few app developers can specify devices/system environments on which their apps are allowed to be installed or run, which results in the inability to install or run on any Android car stereo.

Note: Some apps are not compatible with S8 (Gen2), for example Netflix.

Versatile connectivity - ATOTO S8 Ultra has many customized inputs and outputs to work better in a vehicle

• Connect to a specific USB 1080P DVR camera on the dashboard for video preview and playback;
• Connect to a specific ATOTO USB TPMS tire pressure monitoring system. When one or more tires are flat, a warning will appear on the S8 screen and even beep as a reminder;
• Connect to a reverse camera with CVBS and HD video signal output for safe parking;
• Connect to your Android/iOS smartphone via USB/WiFi and use EasyConnection to cast what's displayed on your phone to the S8 screen;
• Connect to your iOS phone via USB or Bluetooth to run wired or wireless CarPlay; Android Auto only works with wired USB connection, seamlessly integrating your smartphone (iPhone and Android) with the S8's built-in display, allowing you to make calls, access your music, send and receive messages, and get directions;
• Connect to an OBD II diagnostic scanner/engine code reader via Bluetooth; Compared to single Bluetooth, dual Bluetooth makes communication tasks among multiple Bluetooth connections more balanced and stable.
• Connect the phone to the dedicated Fast Charging interface, S8 will quickly charge the phone's battery.
• Connect to headrest monitors using the ATOTO USB video output adapter (AC-AHV68: USB to HDMI adapter; AC-AHV48: USB to RCA adapter; both sold separately) and what is displayed on the S8 can be synced with the headrest monitors.

Vehicle Adaptation:

• Most North American dashboard mounting frame suppliers can provide a double DIN mounting frame with 172 mm * 97 mm opening (Metra dashboard kits, PAC dashboard kits, etc.). ATOTO is the first to bring a 7-inch Android car radio with a minimum front panel size of 172 mm * 97 mm. An additional frame adapter is also included in the package to extend its dimensions to 178 mm*101.5 mm.
