DriveChat (Mojo): "Skipping to the next track."

3. Conversational Interaction for Companionship. Example usage:

User: "Hey Piko, I am feeling bored. Can you tell me a joke?"

DriveChat (Piko): "Sure! Why don’t scientists trust atoms? Because they make up everything!"

User: "Thanks, Piko! That was funny. Can you tell me a story about atoms?"

DriveChat (Piko): "Of course! Once upon a time, in a land so tiny you could only see it with the most powerful microscope, there was a bustling city called Atomville..."

4. Professional Advice from AI Chatbot. Example usage:

User: "Hey Piko, switch to novelist mode."

DriveChat (Piko): "Switching to novelist mode."

User: "Hey Piko, how can I write a compelling novel introduction?"

DriveChat (Chatbot - Novelist Mode): "A good opening should grab the reader’s attention. You can start with an intriguing question, a vivid description, or a dramatic event. Make sure it sets the tone for the rest of the story."

User: "That’s really helpful. So how can I come up with a strong opening?"

DriveChat (Chatbot - Novelist Mode): "Writing a strong opening for your novel is important because..."

9.3.1 Activate DriveChat

By using wake words to activate DriveChat, you can trigger different functions of the system in various scenarios. For example:

1. To initiate a simple conversation, say: "Hey Piko, please tell me what the highest mountain in the world is."

2. To switch to a professional chatbot role, say: "Hey Mojo, switch to novelist mode," and then receive expert advice on novel writing techniques.

In this context, "Hey Mojo" serves as the control wake word. After DriveChat switches to the novelist role, you should use "Hey Piko" to continue the conversation.

Note: “Hey Piko” is used here as an example for dialogue interaction, and “Hey Mojo” as an example for control functions.

Required Accessory: The AC-AHV48 USB-to-CVBS RCA Video Output Adapter (sold separately) or AC-AHV68 USB-to-HDMI Video Output Adapter (sold separately) is required to use the video output function. An HDMI cable is also required to connect the AC-AHV68 adapter to an external display device.

Key Features:

1. Synchronized Audio and Video Output

The HDMI output port of the S8 Lite Android head unit allows simultaneous transmission of video and audio to an external display device, enabling synchronized multi-screen display.

2. Dual HDMI Output Modes

The HDMI Output port on the S8 Lite supports two HDMI Output modes, offering flexible audio configurations to suit different usage scenarios.

Mode 1: Different Display, Same Audio (Outputs video to external display device, audio from the S8 Lite Android head unit)

Definition: The screen’s video content is transmitted to the external display device via the HDMI Output port, while the audio continues to play through the S8 Lite head unit’s speakers.

Functionality: Supports both mirrored display with shared audio and independent display with shared audio:

(1)Mirrored Display + Shared Audio:

The external display device shows the same content as the S8 Lite screen, and audio is output from the S8 Lite.

(2)Independent Display + Shared Audio:

The external display device shows different content than the S8 Lite screen, but audio is still output from the S8 Lite.

Typical Use Case:

The driver uses navigation on the front screen, while rear-seat passengers watch a different video. Audio from both sources is output through the S8 Lite's speakers.

Mode 2: Different Display, Different Audio (S8 Lite and the external display device play different video and audio content without interference)

Definition: Both the screen content and audio are transmitted from the S8 Lite to an external display via the HDMI Output port. (Note: the external display must support built-in speakers or audio decoding.)

Functionality: Supports both mirrored display with shared audio and independent display + independent Audio:

(1)Mirrored Display + Shared Audio:

The external display device shows the same content as the S8 Lite screen, and audio is output from the S8 Lite.

(2)Independent Display + Shared Audio:

The external display device and the S8 Lite’s screen show different video content, and each plays audio that matches its own screen.

Typical Use Case:

The driver uses navigation and plays music on the head unit (audio from the S8 Lite), while rear-seat passengers watch videos on the external display (audio from that device) — both operating independently without interference.

Operation Steps

Chapter 33 Fast Boot

The Fast Boot function is designed to speed up the system’s entry into the main interface after the vehicle is started, significantly reducing boot-up time.

33.1 How Fast Boot Works

1.Low-Power Sleep Mode

(1) Activates approximately 5 minutes after the engine is turned off and the key is removed (or upon opening the driver's door, depending on the car).

(2) Enables the S8 Lite Android head unit’s system to wake up in under 2 seconds with the ACC power signal.

2.Battery Efficiency

(1) Operates on less than 10mA, allowing a typical car battery to last between 160-250 days in this mode.

(2) Automatically transitions to full power-off mode if idle for more than 168 hours (7 days), reducing the battery drain to just 2.5%-4%.

3.Recharging and Automatic Shutdown

(1) Daily driving recharges the battery, preventing the system from an automatic shutdown.

(2) After parking for over 7 days, system start-up will take 20-25 seconds.

4. Proven Reliability

Supported by over 100,000 users.

33.2 Cautions for Fast Boot

(1) To ensure Fast Boot functions correctly, it's crucial to wire the “12v Ignition/ACC” and “12v Constant Power/Battery”correctly in the power harness. For details, please refer to the “Connection” section under “Installation”. (Navigation Path: Navigate to Eproductcare > Car Stereo > S8 Lite > Specific Model: S8 LiteXXX > Installation)

(2) Incorrect wiring may prevent the system from entering sleep mode, leaving the screen on, or interrupting the hibernation process, leading to a 20-30-second restart time.

Common Usage Issue

Issue:

Can the sleep mode on the S8 Lite be disabled? The customer is concerned about battery consumption and would prefer the unit to shut down completely instead of entering sleep mode when ACC is turned off.

Solution:

On the S8 Lite, after the vehicle is turned off, the unit will exit sleep mode and automatically shut down after about 5 minutes. Therefore, there is no need to worry about excessive battery consumption.
