Quite a decent device for the price..., pretty fast and quite a comprehensive box of parts ...Apart from the mounting plates, these are quite useless, they seem to have random holes all over the placenone of which line up with the the radio chassis frame ? so your on your own there .. LOLOnce I get in the Micra , i'll update this a bit ..

I was sceptical given the price (£105 with the Amazon discount) but took a punt. Easy installation into my existing connects2 harness. It takes about 30 seconds to load which feels like a lifetime when you jump in the car but once its on its very responsive! Android Auto connects instantly without needing a cable which was a big thing for me. Its also got the playstore so can add your own apps outside of android auto! Would definitely recommend if youre looking for a budget friendly unit

Atoto are a well established brand in the world of car audio and I have had one of their premium models fitted in a vehicle since 2018 and it still works very well today. For my latest install I decided to try one of their more budget offerings, a 7 inch A5 Lite.As with all Atoto products, this double DIN sized Android head unit comes well packaged and contains pretty much everything you need to install it in a vehicle including mounting hardware, two different sized fascia surrounds and both ISO and bare wire harnesses.In fact there are two ISO harnesses one of which has the constant and switched live feeds reversed so solving a common connection issue without need to re-pin the connector. As the unit is very slim it leaves plenty of space behind to accommodate the various cables.The rear panel has sockets for the vehicle FM aerial and supplied GPS antenna, and despite its low cost it also features an HDMI out port to allow the screen display to be mirrored on an additional monitor – a perfect way to keep rear seat passengers entertained!A block of connectors accommodates cables for the twin USB ports, a comprehensive selection of inputs and outputs to connect items such as amplifiers, subwoofers and front/rear cameras plus WiFi and Bluetooth antennas. A separate connector has the power inputs, front and rear speaker outputs and connections for steering wheel button controls – which are fully configurable to suit your vehicle in the system menu.After the initial start up which takes about 25 seconds, the A5L offers a 2 second fast boot so in normal use it powers up pretty much as soon as the ignition key is turned.Reflecting its lower price point the A5L runs Android 9 and has 2Gb of RAM and 32Gb of storage. Despite this it is smooth in operation and supports all the main apps you could want in a vehicle head unit, in fact most come pre-installed and others can be downloaded from the Google Play Store.The A5L supports add-ons such as DAB+, TPMS and Torque and the appropriate apps are included, however additional hardware is required to use these functions. While there is no included SD card expansion on this model, additional space for music or video files is available via storage devices plugged into the USB ports.The Android launcher is customised for in vehicle use and there is a wide selection of automotive specific themes to choose from. Front panel button colour and vehicle logos can also be changed from within the comprehensive menu settings.Whilst having access to all of these apps makes the A5L an incredibly versatile unit, many users will likely use either Android Auto or Apple CarPlay most of the time and both are fully supported on the A5L using either wired (USB) or wireless connection.Arguably the two most important considerations for any in car system are the quality of the sound and the screen display – and the A5L delivers in both of these key areas. Audio is full and rich and can be tailored to your exact requirements through the fully configurable DSP (Digital Signal Processor) with lots of adjustments for equaliser, balance and speaker positions. It can control and configure a connected subwoofer to further enhance the bass performance.As for the display, the 1280x720 IPS screen is bright and sharp with a punchy colours and positive touch response. Viewing angles are good thanks to the IPS screen and automatic dimming is supported at night when the vehicle lights are switched on.Because Atoto is such a recognised brand, customer support is excellent with comprehensive manuals, guides and FAQ’s available on their website. Firmware updates (when available) are supported via the units system menu.I can fully recommend the Atoto A5L and have no hesitation in offering a 5* rating. It has all the functionality you could want from an in car infortainment device and performance and sound is exceptional for such a value for money product.

This unit was extremely easy to install, especially if you have installed others before. I was able to use the cables i had put in from a previous atoto installation. This unit is actually a downgrade from my previous stereo, as it does not use a sim card, and it mostly works as a car play system using your connected (wired or wireless) phone. It does however have a few upgrades to my old system. It uses a newer version of android, and it has an input for hdmi. I do not know how i will use this yet, but I assume you could put in a dvd player of sorts with an appropriate app from the store? It also has the new AI system, which apparently has several different characters for diffetent scenarios, such as story telling for the children and a music host for adults it general chat and queries for adults. I haven't had the opportunity to check this out in full yet, but I will update this review after fully experiencing it. Overall, I am happy with the system. It starts up very quickly, and connects to the phone seemingly at an instant. I believe it will be a welcome company during some long drives ahead.

Installation took me around an hour.I was unable to test the DAB receiver, as I am waiting for the dongle to ship, but previous experiences with ATOTO DAB systems lead me to believe there won't be any issues.Initial Impressions:The 7" screen was impressive, clear, bright and responsive to touch. The Android OS was responsive and operated as expected.Smartphone integration was seamless and easy to configure, although I was only able to test the Android Auto connectivity, as I don't have access to an iPhone; but I would assume that it operates just as efficiently. The phone re-paired flawlessly on each vehicle start.Sound quality using the in-built amplifiers was very good, with a nice, clear, and well-balanced sound. My car has an aftermarket amplifier/DSP and speaker system, so I also tested the headunit using these and was very impressed with the sound quality, which was on par with more expensive brands.The screen was easy to use whilst driving, with a logical menu system and easy access to the most used functions.What Stands Out:Seamless Smartphone Integration: This unit supports both wired and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto - a rare find in this price range.
