A superb unit that has all the bells and whistles

First the good stuff: this is a really great Android-based car stereo with many fantastic features. It has a SIM slot and micro-SD slot on the front panel - I think this one of the very few offering that, if not the only one I've seen on Amazon. This means I can change the SIM or the memory card easily and not have to pop the dash panel off and pull out the stereo just to do this (many other models have these on the back only) or run a cable dongle to the glove box. It has a row of physical buttons on the bottom which are convenient and don't take away from screen real-estate. These offer common function such as "home" and volume. The X10-R2 has GPS, wifi, 4G cellular, front-and-back *recording* camera support. There are 2 USB ports in addition to the front micro-SD, one for camera DVR, and one for music/files. I added both cameras, and they work very well. It supports Android Auto and that works perfectly. One of the best features Atoto offers is over-wifi updates. I am surprised that all other brands don't also offer this, but in my research it seems to be a rare feature. Definitely a time-saver. I have my home wifi set up, so from the garage I just run the "update" app and it does its thing - really nice! I already installed updates 3 times, so Atoto is actively developing/fixing the software. I also like the steering-wheel remote (sold separately) which has a ring-style volume control like a tiny steering wheel kind of thing, very easy to adjust with my thumb. The settings and EQ application allow you to dial in the perfect sound, and options just the way you like it. The layout is very customizable and easy to change. Now, some of the negatives I've experienced: the music media player sometimes just locks up, no sound, spontaneously. If I change to the radio app there is sound, and if I restart the stereo it comes back ok. Hopefully Atoto will figure out a bug fix for this. The weather widget didn't work at first, I had to remove it from home screen and then re-apply it. Now it seems to work fine. The Google Maps widget many times just displays a blank screen, but touching/clicking on it to pull up full screen works ok. So, there's a few kinks to iron out. For the most part, though, everything else works great.Atoto makes a pretty big deal about the built-in AI bot, but I find it useless. It always says it can't do what I ask, such as increase volume, navigate to the gas station, etc. Sometimes it triggers even when no music is playing and no one said anything. Strangely, sometimes it won't respond at all to the key word even when there is no noise, nor even after I press the remote voice-activate button. I think it will eventually get better, but this early attempt isn't so useful. They also have two separate keywords, one for chat-GPT general questions (what's the weather today) versus control of the unit (turn the volume down). I won't be using the AI for now, it doesn't work very well. Finally, many things on the screen are tiny and hard to touch or read. This is probably an issue with the Android system itself, but I think its something the software developers need to address. My old 2005 Kenwood stereo was easier to use in some ways because the screen was designed specifically for cars, whereas these Android units are obviously re-purposed tablets and some of the apps and screens show that. On a 7" screen, I want the text and controls to be bigger and easier to touch. One more nit-picky thing: my unit came bundled with a rear camera, but that one doesn't display guide-lines. This means it's hard to know where the edge of my bumper is, so I find that I have to look over my shoulder to make sure of where an obstacle is. I don't know if this can be fixed with software updates or not, but kinda disappointing. Apparently there is an Atoto HD camera that does have guidelines, so this might be a camera's built-in capability and not from the stereo.I installed this (X10-R2) in a 1999 4Runner Limited. It fits perfectly, works with the power antenna, and was pretty easy to install. I purchased a 4Runner wiring harness (about $12) and connected it to the Atoto harness, making install very straightforward. Now my old "grandpa" 4Runner has all the latest tech, from cameras to GPS, wifi and bluetooth, Android auto (phone calls, navigation, music) and 4G data connectivity. Oh, and I also got a bluetooth OBDII interface hooked up, and now can view and manage the car's diagnostics, RPM, etc right on the screen - very nice.

I don't think this can be topped

I have had this unit installed partially for about 3 weeks. Still need to run the rear camera wires. This replaces an Atoto S8 unit I have had for 3 years and was a great unit. The improvement on this unit is light years advanced. I am still trying to figure out all the features, especially the DSP functions. The unit works flawlessly, has no issues with a Verizon SIM card for streaming, and the screen with the layout abilities is first class. There is not enough good I can say about this unit. Of you are looking for a high end in dash head unit, this will not disappoint. Once I have the unit completely installed and the DSP set up I will update this review.I cannot speak on the built-in amps as I use the RCA outputs and external amplifiers. The dash cam function is excellent with super quality video and good night clarity and brightness. Eventually I plan to use the tire pressure monitoring and the OBD engine module. So far I have only complaints on functionality. The manual that has to be downloaded is lacking in explaining how several functions work and what they do. It is trial and error to figure out what happens when adjusted. I am referring to the DSP. functions. The other is the built-in microphone for cell calls and talking to the chat bot. It sucks bad. There is a connection for an external mic, which I have ordered, hopefully to correct this issue. Atoto makes an external mic for this unit but I have not heard much about it and the one review I saw on YouTube with in-car testing did not impress me.Overall the best head unit I have seen or used. Especially for the price. Well worth the money and the time it takes to figure out how to use it. Will it be sorry purchasing this unit.

The ATOTO X10 Line: Flagship Performance is Universal—A Must-Buy

ATOTO X10 Series 7" Double DinI recently upgraded to the ATOTO X10 Series, and the consistency across their entire range is what really impresses me. This isn't just a basic multimedia unit this is a true processing hub designed for enthusiasts who demand studio-grade sound and absolutely zero lag.1. Universal Performance and Screen TypesATOTO deserves major credit for making their core performance universal. All X10 head units—from the smallest screen to the largest—are functionally identical in speed and processing power, whether they are single-DIN or double-DIN chassis.Fixed Screens (7-inch to 9-inch): These models feature attached, in-dash displays for a cleaner, OE-style fit.Floating Screens (9-inch up to 14-inch): These models feature a highly adjustable floating screen, which is essential for larger displays like my 12.5" QLED, allowing perfect viewing angle adjustment and avoiding vent blockages. The speed is almost instant and thanks to the powerful Octa-Core Snapdragon processor with 8GB RAM and 128GB ROM, ensuring near instantaneous app loading and flawless multitasking—no more frustrating lag.2. Audiophile-Grade Audio ProcessingFor anyone running external amplifiers, the X10’s audio suite is the best at this price point. It provides the digital control necessary to build a competition-ready system:Optical (SPDIF) Output: This is a crucial, high-end feature that sends a pure, lossless digital audio signal directly to a DSP or compatible amplifier, eliminating ground noise entirely.4-5V RCA Pre-Outs: Delivers a clean, high-voltage signal to external amps, maximizing the amplifier's signal-to-noise ratio for louder, cleaner performance.36-Band EQ & 3-Way Crossover: Provides professional-level control over the sound stage, allowing surgical precision on crossover points and time alignment to get every driver in the vehicle perfectly matched.(up to 10 channels)3. Seamless Connectivity and Value. The entire system integrates perfectly and brings every modern feature you need right to the dash:The 12.5" QLED display boasts a high 1920x1200 resolution, remaining bright and clear even in direct sunlight.Wireless CarPlay / Android Auto connects instantly about every time without fail. The available and sometimes included Dual Camera system (front and rear) and Dual Noise-Cancelling Mic ensure excellent recording quality and crystal-clear hands-free calls. Conclusion:The ATOTO X10 is the clear choice for any project that requires high performance and advanced audio features. Knowing that performance is consistent across all screen sizes and installation types makes this a simple choice. The advanced DSP features and the SPDIF output are features you normally pay hundreds more for. This unit offers unmatched value and capability. I'm astonished at the functionality of this unit.

Requires some fixes every now and then but what an upgrade for my 2011 Honda Fit!

So much better then the built in navigation that had a broken time on it. The seller worked with me to fix an issue that was occurring with the google play store AR. Waze works great. I would recommend checking out T-Mobile's 30 Gig plan. You have to know the special promo code and it might not be around forever so do some searching for it. I'm paying $10 plus tax for 30 gigs a month. I bought the Quanta 5G Hotspot and took that to a T-mobile store and then gave them the special code for the 30 Gig for $15 with tax included. Then you sign up for paperless delivery and auto-pay and it drops it to $10 a month plus tax. Then I pulled the SIM card out and put it into the head unit and automatically connected. The other issue I have is Android Auto doesn't want to connect quickly but since I'm using the T-Mobile SIM card it works just fine. I also ordered https://amzn.to/43d2vVk floating shelf and drilled that into the double din to cover it. I have a 2011 Honda Fit and the sunlight was pretty bad. With the floating shelf above it no issues now.

ATOTO X10 Review in Kia Soul 2013

Hello everyone(Personal Pro and Cons at the end)So before I start this review a little reminder. You should look into vehicle specific dash kits and harnesses before you purchase to make the install of your aftermarket radio as easy as possible. So let's jump into the review.Right out of the box all items seem sturdy and made of good quality. Everything is packaged well and protected, awesome. You even get a screen protector which seems as a rather rare packaging item.So getting started was pretty easy. Of course you first have to complete the steps of disassembling your previous radio and like I said at the start make sure you have everything to built in the unit like a dash kit for your specific vehicle and harness if you don't know what color wire in your vehicle means what. But once you have that all it's really just connect the wires which is super simple since everything is labeled. I used twist on caps to connect the wires and by the way I performed this upgrade in a Kia Soul 2013.So once the wires are connected you connected any other attachments you want and yes this unit has A LOT of possibilities. It even has an HDMI port which is definitely a first for me to see on an aftermarket radio. But just check the description what kind of ports they have and I think they offer even add-ons themselves.I'm rather simple. This is the bundle featuring the back up camera and that was pretty much all I needed as well. Now beware. I didn't realize this at first but apparently they have different backup cameras and the one in this bundle is a "rear recording camera" so it can record and I guess (I didn't try it out yet) function as a back dash camera. But this does come with a tradeoff. So they also have a "rear view camera". So the rear view camera can show guidelines which the rear recording can't. So if your interested and want one of these features make sure you buy the right product. I unfortunately was more interested in the guidelines but it's definitely no deal breaker at all. The camera is super clear and also pretty good at night and that's really all that matters. So let's talk about the interface and UI of the unit. It's quite funny. When I started the radio for the first time, I thought I was on Windows. The menu button from ATOTO just looks like the Windows logo. It took a little bit to figure everything out but if you're used to Android it's pretty easy to navigate around. There are just some settings and setup features that were quite tricky to figure out. But usually if it's not to easy to figure everything out that just means you have a lot of features which is awesome in my opinion. So one thing I thought was harder to get working was wireless android auto. And with harder I don't mean hard at all just hard to find if you don't know. If you know it's super simple. Because the app that enables wireless android auto just says connect Bluetooth but once you do that android auto doesn't start. So after searching I found in the Bluetooth settings of my phone that there was a toggle to auto enable wireless android auto when connected and tada it worked.I've also noticed how powerful the unit is. When you turn your car on the unit is directly ready to go there is like no start up. Also playing games and watching videos supper smooth. I didn't play any hardcore games but like casual stuff for example angry birds. One thing did kinda bug me though. So when you decide today you don't want to listen to your own music but to the radio, everytime you would switch to the radio the volume would increase a bunch and always to some pre-set volume. I can change the volume once inside the radio but if I go out of radio and back in again it's the same pre-set as before. I have no idea why that is and couldn't find any settings to change that but it was quite annoying. It's no deal breaker but something I noticed and it's not like I get hearing damage from that. It's not that loud but you would probably want it lowered. This now brings me to a really cool feature I missed on most other aftermarket radios I've owned. It supports Over The Air (short OTA) updates. So if there are any bugs or performance issues or anything software related that's not that great it can be easily fixed. Time will then tell how the company does everything.Something cool as well is that you can connect two phones with Bluetooth simultaneously. So if you're also in a pickle sometimes, when you're navigating, but your friend wants to play music, it's now possible.Another cool feature is the possibility to change your equalizer on the home screen since there are so often songs that sound better with a different setting (in my opinion at least). It's setup like a widget but it's more a modification of the home screen bar.Talking about the home screen bar, the home screen is highly customizable but what I've noticed for my situation is. Since my dash setup I the Kia soul is a bit weird that the screen is a bit imbedded into the screen it's a littl...
