Easy to install and fairly easy to use.

This thing is great. I installed it in my 2003 silverado and it was a breeze. I had to use an interface module to get it to work with the door chime system, but that's pretty normal when adding an aftermarket radio on anything with a CAN bus system. It has a ton of cool features and the screen is responsive and easy to use. I like the volume controls, the tuning functions, the bluetooth playback, etc.The microphone for bluetooth calls is a little funky, but that might just be the way I have it installed.I have not yet figured out the GPS function because it needs a wifi connection, but I'll work on that soon.Overall a good double din replacement with a ton of cool features.

Worth it.

Replacement for 2003 F150, this is a pretty good fit - just a little gap on each side, and a bit too tall for the F150's trim. Had to cut the plastic cross bar on the trim piece, which leaves a little gap visible between bottom of screen and top of A/C-heater control panel. That said, let me concentrate on the stereo itself. This is my 2nd chinese android head unit. 1st is an Eonon in my 325i and - while it work, is pretty quirky: locks up frequently, radio is substandard, sound quality took a lot of tweaking to get up to snuff.SO... I had pretty low expectations. As long as it had reasonable sound, would run Waze Nav, and had basic steering wheel controls, I decided to be happy. Any nav screen is better than none.I was pleasantly surprised by how small this unit is - basically it's a 2-DIN faceplace compared to my 5-yr old Eonon (which, admittedly is larger because it has CD/DVD while this unit doesn't). And, installation was pretty easy. When I booted it up, that's when I got happy :-)Sound quality is *much* better than older Android HU's. Radio reception is very good. EQ allows a lot of customization, but it's sound is good without being tweaked significantly.More important, the unit has been rock solid. Has not locked up, crashed, etc. I hotspot connect to my phone usually, and used this way, Waze and other networked apps have been rock solid.Carplay wasn't of interest to me... until I tried it. It is also rock solid... and I don't have to turn on hotspot. I've changed my normal usage pattern completely: now I run Waze under Carplay, while stereo plays FLACs from 64GB SD card. I've used Google music and some other streaming apps (with and without Carplay), and streaming has been solid also - I just prefer my FLAC's quality sound. For this absurdly low price, this is a no brainer as a way to modernize a pre-nav vehicle.Ok - it's still an Android headunit, and that is by definition a 'hobbyist' platform. You have to get used to how it works, you have to understand how it wants to work, and you can expect some bugs. But, it is clear that the quality of Android HU's has improved in the last 5 years. I've reported a number of bugs, but they are all minor, mainly cosmetic issues (like the main screen doesn't scale up size perfectly).I drop 1/2 point because by default, the font is TOO SMALL. You can change this via accessibility, changing the default fontsize and scaling, but it's clear that this isn't how it was tested originally. With it scaled up to readable size, a number of cosmetic bugs pop up.The other 1/2 pt. off is because the *SEPARATE* steering wheel control is 'quirky'. It works, and is better than no SWC at all, but its analog and sometimes gets lost. I suspect the unit is fine with built-in SWC.OVERALL: Even with some minor quirks, mainly related to SWC and larger fonts, this is a steal at under $120, and a very welcome modernization for an older vehicle. The Atoto's audio quality is SO much better than I expected, and Wired/Wireless Carplay is very useable.

This is a Excellent audio system/ easy setup/well made

I purchased this Atoto A5L double din 7 inch touch screen system to upgrade my original radio in my 06 Nissan frontier. After reading the reviews this is the one I settled on and an extremely happy I did.The sound quality with basic speakers in my truck is awesome! The touch screen is very responsive and the apps open up immediately with no noticable lag at all, the radio stations come in crisp and clear, Google maps opens up and runs great, Bluetooth is easy to set up and once connected the radio connects to my phone as soon as I turn my vehicle on and the system comes on immediately no hesitation at all. This system also comes with a GPS antenna that works great all the apps open up fast and run great. The installation was very easy and this is the first radio I ever installed, I had to purchase a harness adapter kit so I could connect to my factory harness on my truck but the kit also came with everything I needed for a complete installation, once the harness was connected the radio was just plug and play it really doesn't get any easier than this. The only issue I had was the main screen had the time in military 24hr clock with no way to change to a 12hr clock setup I contacted Atoto support thru email and the next morning they responded with the update I needed to fix this issue with step by step instructions on how to download and install the update it literally took less than 10 minutes to download install and update the system, once the radio restarted the time was automatically set to 12hr clock and I was done. The radio and the customer support is second to none do your self a favor and get one.

Atoto A5L 7" DblDIN unit, HW buttons, TF card slot, Aux, good Bluetooth, lacks MP3 Play All mode

I got this product for free, the following is my honest and unbiased review. (Jan 26 2025)This review is for the Atoto A5 Lite model A5LG2A7T (2G+32G) unit. The OEM stereo in my 2008 Toyota Sienna locks up in hot weather, so I recently replaced it with a 7” Android unit with 2-wire Steering Wheel Controls capability. However when I saw this Atoto model A5L Android 9 Double DIN stereo with 7" touchscreen (2+32GB) with GPS, I wanted to check it out. The unit comes with wiring harnesses, an external GPS antenna, one USB connection cable, sheet metal mounting brackets, and a booklet that directs you to download an on-line manual. No backup camera or external microphone is included, although either one (or both) can easily be added. There is an HDMI socket on the back of the unit however since I did not need to download the manual in order to test this unit, I don't know what that HDMI socket is for (input or output). This unit has two Steering Wheel Control (SWC) wires (SWC1 and SWC2), and so with the correct wiring, the unit is able to communicate properly with the SWC buttons on my 2008 Toyota Sienna, no rewiring or 3rd party SWC control box required. I did a bench test of this unit using a 12v power supply and some car speakers. This unit has some nice features: *Once connected to your car, the unit starts up quickly. *The user interface is pretty intuitive, and even has multiple User Interface options. *Menu icons on the sub-pages can be re-positioned. *The unit has front panel hardware buttons (much appreciated!) for Power/Mute, Volume Down, Volume Up, Previous, Next and Home/Mic. *The unit has a front panel TF card slot, USB socket, and Aux In jack. *You can tune the AM/FM radio by sliding your finger across the frequency display. *There is one AM and 3 FM “bands” identified as AM1, FM1, FM2, and FM3. You can program 18 FM station presets into each “band”. The unit shows 6 presets at a time, and you can access the others by sliding the row of preset buttons left/right by using your finger. *The “magnifying glass” icon gives a brief audio scan and sample of the 18 presets. *The display dims when the parking lights are turned on. *The cable that terminates in a USB socket allows you can play music, display pictures, or watch movies from a USB thumb drive. You can also store and playback media on the unit itself (which has 32GB of internal memory). *Album art and lyrics (if available) are displayed. *You can play music, and place and answer phone calls via Bluetooth. *Phone numbers that are Blocked by my phone are displayed at the bottom on the unit’s Contact List, out of the way. *You can rename the unit’s Bluetooth name. *There is 48-band (too many bands and too cumbersome in my opinion) DSP equalizer with preset curves plus 3 USER settings, and separate Surround and Loudness settings. *There is a separate subwoofer setting. *There is a section to set time delays and frequency roll-off profiles. *Sound is pretty good. Bass notes hit nicely and highs are present. The overall music sound quality is good for this price range, you can crank up your tunes and enjoy them, without significant distortion. This unit also has some shortcomings: *When the Music or Folder icon is pressed and internal music files are being played, the unit takes the lazy way out and does NOT jump to the folder and show what it Now Playing. Instead, it will show the last screen shot, or jump to display the first (topmost) folder/song, which of course is –not– what is Now Playing. *When listening to music via Bluetooth, you cannot traverse folders (a shortcoming also shared by other units). *The Contacts listed on the unit from your phone are displayed in 3 columns, and so only 10 characters of each contact (too few) are displayed. *There is no way to Search for a contact, you must display and browse them (time consuming and distracting). My primary reason for a car stereo is for listening to FM stations and playback of my own MP3 music files, with Bluetooth phone capability second, and Bluetooth music third. And unfortunately listening to my own MP3 files (stored in folders on a USB memory stick) is where this unit falls short. For me, the following is a significant shortcoming: there is no Play All mode! With this unit, when browsing by folder, music playback is limited to that folder. You can’t simply press “Next” to go to a new folder, instead you have to manually choose a different folder. And if you want to go to the Next folder, first you have to display the current folder! There is no way to play everything on your TF card (or USB memory stick) in folder order. Instead, the unit reads then sorts ALL of your songs from ALL of your folders and plays them in alphabetical filename (not folder name) order. Here’s how Play All –should– work: let’s say I have folder A containing songs called “Always”, “Forget”, and “ToCall”. Next is folder B containing songs called “Before”, “Leaving”, and “Work”. Last is folder C with songs called ...
