2.3 Before installation
Before installation, please make sure your vehicle or head unit is compatible with the CB4.
- Compatibility Requirement:
The CB4 is compatible with car stereos that support wired CarPlay or wired Android Auto (at least one wired connection is required).
Note: If your car stereo meets the above requirements but the connection still fails, please contact ATOTO Customer Support for assistance.
- Power Supply Requirement:
For stable operation, the CB4 requires a stable power supply of 5V / 1A.
If the vehicle’s USB port cannot provide sufficient and stable power, please use the provided Y-shaped power cable to connect to an additional power source.
- Control Requirement:
Your car stereo must also meet at least one of the following conditions:
① The stereo supports direct on-screen touch control.
② If it does not, the stereo must have a touchpad or remote control for navigation.
Reason:
The CB4's built-in Android 12 system relies on touch input for operation. Without a touchscreen, touchpad, or equivalent input device, users will be unable to operate apps, access menus, or control system settings effectively.

- Compatibility Limitation:
The CB4 is compatible with vehicles whose OEM systems support wired CarPlay or wired Android Auto.
❌ Not compatible with:
BMW vehicles
Most Subaru vehicles
Vehicle’s systems that support wireless CarPlay or wireless Android Auto only
⚠ Aftermarket head units:
Compatibility may vary. Some aftermarket head units may work if their CarPlay / Android Auto interface follows Apple’s or Google’s official specifications and hardware requirements.
2.4 Installation Process
Before starting the installation, please read the instructions carefully and follow each step as described.
Important Notice:
If you are unable to complete the installation successfully after following the instructions in this chapter, please contact ATOTO Customer Support immediately. You can also scan the QR code below to access the AC-4450 User Manual directly on your smartphone.

Important:
The upgraded version of DriveChat integrates a set of agentic AI services that are continuously being developed and released. Certain functions within these services rely on real-time vehicle ECU data obtained via an external OBD diagnostic device. Without the AC-4450, these specific agentic AI services will not function as intended.

Chapter 8 Troubleshooting
Important Note:
1. If you have checked the points described in this chapter and the problem persists, unplug the CB4 for 10 seconds and then plug it back in.
2. If the problem still occurs after following the suggestions, please contact Customer Service for further assistance.
1. General Issues
Issue 1: CB4 does not respond / does not power on / restarts randomly
Reason & Solution:
● Confirm wired CarPlay / Android Auto support
Make sure your original car head unit actually supports wired CarPlay or wired Android Auto.
CB4 cannot work with systems that support wireless CarPlay / Android Auto only.
● Check the correct USB port
Ensure the CB4 is connected to the original USB port specifically used for wired CarPlay / Android Auto.
Some vehicles have multiple USB ports, but only one supports CarPlay/Android Auto data transmission.
● Verify vehicle compatibility
Confirm that your car model is compatible with CB4.
● Check cable connections
Ensure all cables are securely connected.
● Insufficient USB power supply
For vehicles with weak USB power output (e.g., certain Nissan, Isuzu, Toyota, Lexus, and Volkswagen models), use the included Y-shaped power cable and connect it to a cigarette lighter socket or a high-power USB port.
● Possible power cable issue
If the CB4 still does not power on, the supplied power cable may be defective.
Please contact your dealer or ATOTO official customer support to request a replacement cable.
Issue 2:Original car head unit cannot recognize CB4 system even when properly connected and powered
Reason & Solution
● Incorrect connection mode:
Ensure CB4 is in the correct mode (CarPlay or Android Auto) according to your head unit. Press and hold the "CP/AA" pinhole for 2–5 seconds to switch between CarPlay and Android Auto.
● Compatibility limitation:
Certain car models or head units may not fully support external Android system overlay. Check CB4 compatibility list.
● Aftermarket head unit compatibility:
Certain aftermarket head units may experience protocol incompatibility or unstable connections. If this occurs, please contact ATOTO Customer Support for further assistance.
● Try “Link” app again:
Tap the “Link” or similar app on the original head unit to manually access CB4.
● Restart devices:
Power off CB4 and original head unit for 10 seconds, then reconnect.
Issue 3: CB4 loses power after being used for a while
Reason & Solution:
● Insufficient or unstable power supply: For stable operation, the CB4 requires a stable 5V / 1A power supply. If necessary, please use the provided Y-shaped power cable to ensure adequate and stable power.
● Overheating due to poor ventilation. Avoid placing CB4 in enclosed spaces like glove boxes or armrests.
Issue 4: CB4 disconnects and restarts when releasing the brake pedal at a stoplight
Reason:
● Vehicles with a Start-Stop system automatically turn off the engine at temporary stops. When the engine restarts, the battery may experience a brief voltage drop, causing CB4 to reset.
Solution:
● Confirm whether your vehicle has a Start-Stop system.
● If yes, try disabling the Start-Stop system.
● If the problem is resolved, check whether the Start-Stop function can be permanently or manually turned off.
2. Bluetooth Issues
Issues1: Bluetooth fails to pair
Reason & Solution:
● CB4 or phone may already be connected to another device: Disconnect the current Bluetooth connection before pairing again.
● Device not in range or not discoverable: Enable Bluetooth on both CB4 and phone. Ensure device is discoverable and within range.
Issues2: Bluetooth screen lock not working
Reason & Solution:
Device not paired or out of range: Ensure phone is paired with CB4. Enable Bluetooth unlocking in BT Lock app.
3. CarPlay / Android Auto Connection Issues
Issue1:Wireless CarPlay/Android Auto cannot connect
Reason & Solution:
Bluetooth or Wi-Fi not enabled, device not compatible:
Enable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on both phone and CB4. Ensure phone is not connected to other networks. Pair through CB4_xxxx device in Bluetooth.
Issue2:LED indicator flashes slowly
Reason & Solution:
Unable to connect to CarPlay / Android Auto: Check phone compatibility (iOS 9+ for CarPlay; Android 11+ for Android Auto; older devices may have limited support). Reboot CB4 and retry connection
4. TF Card Issues
Issue: Cannot play media files
Reason & Solution:
● Unsupported file format. Supported video formats: TS, 3G2, AVI, MKV, WEBM, MPG, MOV, 3GP. Supported audio formats: MP3, OGG, FLAC. Convert the file if necessary.
● Unsupported file system. Replace the TF card with one formatted in a supported file system.
