Ich habe das Gerät für meinen Mercedes Sprinter Bj. 2007 (W906) gekauft und bin nach anfänglichen Problemen sehr zufrieden.Das erste Gerät, dass ich erhielt, machte zwar Probleme bei der Lautstärkeregelung über die Symbole an der Seite und verlor und hin- und wieder das GPS-Signal. Über diese Probleme hatte ich hier geschrieben. Allerdings habe ich daraufhin einen sehr unkomplizierten und schnellen Support vom Verkäufer erhalten. Mir wurde vorab ein Austauschgerät zugesendet und das ganze mit einer kleinen Kulanzgutschrift versüßt. Das erste Gerät muss wohl beim Transport beschädigt worden sein, denn das Austauschgerät funktioniert in jeglicher Hinsicht einwandfrei, so das ich ATOTO S8 Gen 2 Premium ohne Bedenken weiterempfehlen kann. In meinem Fahrzeug habe ich dannach ebenfalls folgende Erweiterungen vom selben Anbieter eingebaut:- ATOTO AC-UTP1 USB TPM Reifendruck Überwachung Sensoren System spezifiziert für A6/S8- ATOTO AC-44P2 1080P USB-DVR-On-Dash-KameraDiese beiden Erweiterungen sind auch top!Bei Fahrzeugen mit Can-Bus ist, wie bei anderen Anbietern, ein entsprechendes Can-Bus-Modul erforderlich. Bei mir hat das folgende Can-Bus Modul weitergeholfen:ACV CAN-UNI 01, EAN: 4026724115536, Preis ca. 60 EUR. Es kann Zündungsplus und Rückfahrlicht simulieren.Eine kleine Anregung: Hier wäre es hilfreich, wenn der Anbieter einen entsprechenden Hinweis in die Produktbeschreibung aufnehmen würde.Vielen Dank an Gina für den tollen Support!

I have installed the S8 Premium Gen 2 in my car and am using it now for about 6 months. Everything works as designed also after half a year.The Radio reception is as good as the original Radio (Mercedes-Benz Comand 2.0) . In Combination with a CAN Module it is possible to use: Volume + - , Track/Radio station forward backward, speed dependant volume increase/decrease, automatic display dimming when head lights are switched on, switch reverse camera with reverse gear.The Touchscreen is very responsive, bright and clear. Also the touch soft buttons continue to work perfectly.I hid the WiFi and GPS Antenna behind the System instead of mounting them to the dashboard or windscreen since I like the car to look as original as possible. Still Wifi reception is perfect and even the GPS Antenna on average receives 10 satellite signals (max I have seen so far was 15) It supports GPS as well as Glonass. Only situation where I did not have sufficient GPS reception was in extremely foggy situation. However even when I took the GPS antenna out and placed it on the dashboard there was no GPS reception. Hence my conclusion even better GPS reception only with external GPS antenna ...The external microphone which is supplied is not neccessary either the quality of the built in microphone is so good that callers don't even notice that I am in the car. They hear me loud and clear.Sound and DSP processing is good however the built in player is a little bright in the high mids, I recommend to replace it with poweramp. The best sound actually comes from the video player which is why I stored my music as mp4 files on an SD Card. (I am a musician and aim for a flat frequency response hence my definition of good sound might be different from most). Only grief I have is that although you have two separate EQs for front and rear speakers, you cannot listen to the rear speakers independently in order to dial in the perfect EQ curve. Very good is the spacial adjustments in the DSP which helps significantly to avoid standing waves inside the car. Also very handy the Bass filter to avoid rattling or droning of the subs without having to insulate the speakers physically.Also worth mentioning it is being delivered with two different wiring harnesses to adapt to different wiring in the car, and the documentation is solid too which makes fitting very easy. Every wire is labelled so it is hard to go wrong. I used Atotos support twice and received an answer within 24h both times.At 400+ € it is not the cheapest of Chinese Android Radios out there but then again as goes the saying, you get what you pay for. In this case that's a good thing!

Coming from the S6 Pro, the S8 Premium does feel faster, but it still has many bugs. When I start the car, there’s a long delay before I can use any buttons or options. Android Auto also takes quite a while to connect.

The built-in Radio app is frustrating too — I always have to press the favorites button to return to my previous settings and saved channels.

Another issue is the sound: the loudness and audio quality are noticeably different between normal phone calls and WhatsApp calls. And these are just a few examples — the list goes on.

Overall, it’s still far from the optimal head unit I was hoping for.
