Vehicle Condition

For safety, always install or connect the receiver while the vehicle is turned off. Installing while the engine is running may cause electrical hazards or safety risks.

Environment Conditions

For best performance, perform pairing in a dry, clean, and low-interference environment. Avoid high humidity, dusty areas, or environments with strong electromagnetic interference.

Connection Failure Handling

If the receiver is not recognized or fails to connect, follow the re-connection steps provided in this manual (e.g., re-seat the USB cable, try a different head-unit USB port, allow USB permissions, then re-scan). If the issue persists, please contact customer support. Do not disassemble or modify the product yourself.

Power & USB Connection

Ensure the DAB receiver is connected to the head unit using the supplied USB Type-C cable (or an equivalent shielded USB cable).

Important: This DAB receiver has no built-in battery or charging function; it operates on 5 V power from the head unit’s USB port.

Avoid routing or placing the receiver and cables in extremely hot or humid environments.

Operation Safety

Do not operate or adjust the DAB app while driving to avoid distractions.

Keep the device out of reach of children to prevent misuse or damage.

Avoid exposing the device to extreme heat, direct sunlight, or high humidity

1.3 Compatibility

  • AC-4475S DAB+ Receiver is compatible with ATOTO A5L, A6, S8, and P9 1M/P9 1X series head units, where the DAB+ app is pre-installed for plug-and-play operation.
  • When used with third-party Android car stereos, manual installation of the DAB+ app is required before use.
  • This receiver is not compatible with ATOTO F7, X10, P5, P8, or P9 2M series.

1.4 Regional Availability and Usage Restrictions

AC-4475S DAB+ service availability is region-dependent. AC-4475S DAB+ Receiver is intended for use in markets where DAB/DAB+ broadcasts are deployed, primarily across Europe and Australia. Outside these regions, coverage may be limited or unavailable. Please verify local DAB+ network availability, frequency allocations, and regulatory compliance before purchase and installation. This receiver supports DAB+ operation in VHF Band III (approx. 174–240 MHz) as used by most broadcasters and does not receive AM/FM, HD Radio (North America), or satellite radio services. Use is subject to local spectrum regulations and broadcaster deployment.

Chapter 4 Troubleshooting

  1. No stations found after scanning
  • Run a Full Scan again and make sure your area has Band III (174–240 MHz) DAB coverage.
  • Check the antenna connection: the amplifier/antenna must be firmly attached and grounded to metal as instructed; avoid metallic/heat-reflective film areas if possible.
  • If using an external box, use a shielded USB cable as recommended.

2. USB device not detected

  • Ensure the receiver is connected to the head unit via USB and that the DAB APK is installed; the device is plug-and-play after APK installation.
  • Unplug/re-insert the USB; try another USB port on the head unit.
  • Grant the USB permission prompt in the DAB app if it appears.

3. Weak or unstable reception

  • Verify the antenna position and cable routing; keep RF cable away from thick power looms where possible.
  • Use an active glass antenna (with amplifier) to enhance DAB+ reception as recommended.

4. Background scan/list not updating

  • Enable BGS (Background Scan) in the app so the list can update while listening.
  • After long trips across regions, run a Full Scan once to refresh the ensemble list.

5. Service does not follow when crossing regions

  • Confirm the app build supports DAB→DAB seamless service following and that stations being compared are the same service ID.
  • If following still fails, perform a manual scan in the new area.

6. Slideshow/DLS text not shown

  • These features depend on broadcaster support. Try another service to verify. Features listed: Slideshow, DLS, PTY, TA, station logo, favorites.

7. App cannot be installed or launched

  • Use an Android head unit and install the provided DAB APK per instructions.
  • If the build is outdated, update to the latest app/UI per your package notes.
