I fitted this in my VW Transporter 5.1 as a replacement for the standard basic head unit with radio and CD. My T5 had a rear camera with a dashtop display mounted extreme left (LHD vehicle) and I wanted a head unit with a display which would be (a) central in the vehicle (b) bright enough to see in strong daylight. Any features beyond these two items would be pure bonus.For reasons which aren't interesting I ended up ordering both the A6VW09PF and the A6G209PF universal model, mainly due to uncertainties about the physical fit of the unit into the dash. Atoto Support actually suggested that the A6G209PF with added extra fitting bits (which I would have to buy separately) would possibly be a better option, but on looking at the two units I could see that I was better with the A6VW09PF. In this way a satisfactory physical fit was assured.The electrical wiring proved to be reasonably straightforward. Everything plugged in as per the instructions, with the exception of the power cable for the camera and another for the radio aerial, which had to be crimped on. My existing rear camera works perfectly with the Atoto unit. It functions as a rear view camera (I don't have through vision with this vehicle), and not specifically as a reversing camera, but usefully it switches on if I happen to need to reverse while something else is on the screen. So this met one of my major objectives.The display itself is clear and bright enough to be seen in most conditions. It's hugely better that the old TFT display it replaces, and because it's positioned lower and with the tilt the 9" screen allows angled fully down, it remains more visible in bright conditions than the old, higher mounted screen did.It's worth mentioning some quirks which arose after fitting. On the first drive after fitting, the airbag warning light was on, which is apparently a known "thing" when removing then restoring power to a head unit. I was able to clear this fault code using VCDS and so far the light has stayed off.I've got to mention Atoto support who are excellent and endlessly patient, even if they did send me off on a false trail by suggesting the universal unit would be better. As I neared the end of installing this unit, I became concerned that the Canbus integration of this unit might not be optimised for the Transporter, since the T5 is clearly not one of the "selected VW" vehicles the A7VW09PF is intended for. Support explained a procedure for getting in to a "secret" menu under Settings, and only after three email exchanges with Support did it become clear that speed is essential when making the 4 button presses to get into the secret menu. At no time did it seem like Support were in any danger of giving up on me, which was reassuring.The Atoto unit meets my rear camera and basic radio needs, although I have set up other features such as phone, GPS and microphone, so I can use these in future if needed. An incedental bonus has been that radio reception is now greatly improved from what it was before.I think that anyone contemplating fitting one of these units should only do so with an understanding that it will not be a smooth path and that they will have to interact with support. This is not a "works out of the box" solution. The actual paper documentation for the Atoto unit is detailed as is the online documentation, but it somehow manages to come across as cluttered. Overall, however, this is a competent and attractive unit, and I can only hope its reliability matches its promise.
