Easy to add to my existing Apple Play Mazda so I can have wireless hookups instead of wired. Worked immediately out of the box and retained all the same functionality as the built in unit. Lots of cool additional features are detailed in the manual and I know I am not making the most use out of it, but looking forward to trying them out when I get time.

I love Android Auto. Having a big screen on my stereo that can show my maps and music apps is way easier than using my phone alone, and it lets me use my phone as a second screen for other things. The audio quality on AA is much higher than bluetooth, so it appeals to the audiophile in me as well. I own several AA units but each one has some kind of issue. One doesn't stay connected, another has a short, another can't remember that's it supposed to run in dark mode (which means I have to flip the switch every time I drive), one doesn't let me use the keyboard on my phone to input text. I've been looking for the "perfect" unit (really one that just works) for some time so when I saw this one I had to try it.The AA unit arrived in a nice box and comes with the AA unit and a USB cable. Setup isn't terribly difficult, you plug the AA unit into your stereo (I use an aftermarket Pioneer but it should work with several aftermarket and OEM units), use your phone or tablet to find the bluetooth connection and connect.For the most part this unit works. It remembers my day/night mode choices, the connection so far has been stable without any drop-outs. The audio quality is high, which is always a big factor to me. The unit is a little on the slower side, taking some seconds to change tracks, which is strange given the cost of this unit (some of my cheaper ones load tracks faster). Unfortunately, the keyboard problem I have with another unit persists into this one. When I try to type anything it only lets me use the stereo's screen, not my phone. It also has some connectivity issues. Twice in the few days I've been testing my phone tries to connect but the AA doesn't pick it up, requiring me to unplug the AA dongle and plug it back in to fix it.This unit has a few extra whistles and tricks above a standard AA dongle. It has bluetooth of its own and can connect to a bluetooth OBD2 scanner. I tested it on my $20 OBD2 scanner and it connected just fine. I tested it with my OBD2 app that works through AA, but Torque is on the AA gadget itself and appears that you can run it separately from AA. I'll try to remember to update my review once I test this feature.Overall this is an okay unit. I haven't messed with some of the other features, like it's on-board Netflix and Torque apps, but the basic features (minus the on-phone keyboard) all work. The connectivity issues are a nuisance since it requires me to unplug the AA dongle, which means it has to be within easy reach to fix, and so I can't hide this behind my dash like I'd prefer. The reliability issues are a deal-breaker for me given the high cost of this unit. It may do better with your setup, but if I'm going to spend the cost of this dongle I want one that works so well it feels seamless.It works, but I would look for a different unit if you're going to spend this much.
