It works ok for the price. My wireless android auto music tends to skip periodically. The unit also does not like direct sunlight as the stereo froze when it was very hot out. Also the usb connect for Android auto connection does not charge the phone but only tries to maintain the percentage the phone battery is at. Stereo works in a pinch if one is needed.

Automatically connects to phone & plays my tunes on Spotify.3. Easily switch between CarPlay (or Android Auto) and the standard radio. Sometimes you just want to listen to the radio instead of a playlist.4. Floating display. I find it way more enjoyable to look at as a floating display that is adjustable to me rather than mounted within the trim in a fixed position. The radio is hard mounted, but there's adjustability, which is lockable with bolts, so it's solid when hitting bumps.5. USB cable. A5L comes with an extended USB cable that you're able to mount in a cutout slot, which will let you charge devices, or even do USB tethering with the A5L & share internet.6. Professional appearance. Due to being mounted and replacing your vehicle's radio head unit, it looks professional without needing to use a cigarette lighter for power.7. Touchscreen controls for volume & navigation. I've actually grew to like these. There's a one-touch mute button, which is very useful. Controlling the audio volume is very responsive.8. Responsive with little to no lag & incredible value for the cost. I got this on a $160 sale here at Amazon - over my factory 4Runner radio, it's one of those quality of life additions that makes a ride that more enjoyable.9. Does not interfere with 4Runner controls, or air vents.I had this radio professionally installed instead of doing it myself due to work restraints.The A5L does NOT come with a factory OEM wiring harness to YOUR vehicle.It DOES come with one to the A5L - this one has pre-cut ends on it that you'll solder to a OEM wiring harness you'll get for your vehicle. This is standard practice across all these types of aftermarket radios.Highly recommended unit. Professional appearance. I have no complaints, especially from the factory radio to this.

Really wanted to give it a rating of 41/2 stars but didn’t want to go as low as 4, so it’s 5 with a minor shoulder shrug. Due to having to go on line for installation and operating instructions. Easy to install!!

I went in with modest expectations given the hardware specs, but this unit has impressed me in all the right ways. Performance is surprisingly smooth, and wireless Android Auto connects quickly and stays stable. Everything I need on the road is just a tap away without noticeable lag.The screen size is a big highlight. It’s generally bright enough to handle daylight driving and includes two screen protectors — a frosted one that reduces glare and a clear one if you prefer a sharper look. Either way, it looks far better than the factory radio it replaced. The adjustable floating mount is useful for avoiding vents and controls, but I do wish there was a way to push the display closer to the dash. If you mount it deeper, the side USB and SD slots become blocked, which is something to consider.Sound quality is another win. Between the DSP options, EQ settings, and multiple preouts, there’s plenty of room to fine-tune. Even running it with factory speakers, the difference in clarity and punch compared to the stock radio is noticeable. Installation wasn’t overly complicated — wiring was straightforward — though the sheer size of the screen makes the physical mounting more challenging. With a little vehicle-specific planning (in my case, a 2017 Ram 1500), it went in much like any other aftermarket head unit.Most of my use so far has been wireless Android Auto, and it’s been rock-solid. I haven’t dug deeply into the Android apps or extra features yet because Android Auto already covers my needs. Overall, the A5L has exceeded expectations and feels like a great value for the price. If you can make it fit your dash cleanly, it’s an upgrade that looks modern, sounds better, and performs well without costing a fortune. Recommended

Awesome new headunit from Atoto! I love how large the screen is, and the positioning options really help me put it in the right place, behind my gear shifter, above my a/c vents, and angled towards the driver. It was a super easy install because I had a much older Atoto headunit previously and I simply unplugged it and plugged this one in, then mounted, etc. The built-in Android interface has a lot of options and I haven't explored most of them (because I mostly use Android Auto). But you can connect to a local wifi to get internet on it (if you want to use your phone as a hotspot and rely on the headunit's Android features). It's easy to download offline maps for Google Maps, so you don't even really need your own wifi hotspot. I also downloaded my favorite Android music player (PowerAmp) and it looks great on the screen. Though it's not listed on the product description (anywhere that I can see), it's got a pretty easy to access microSD card slot and it's super easy to put a TON of music on it if you want to use the default OS and your favorite music player (instead of Android Auto or Apple CarPlay). I've got a 128 GB card in there right now, works great. The USB port there is easy to access to, so I'm sure you can also load a USB flash drive with whatever media you want to plug into it. I was particularly impressed with the split screen functionality, so you can use this headunit entirely without Android Auto or Apple CarPlay if you want and it looks great (see the photos). But for me, I like the ease of Android Auto, so that's mainly what I use it for. It does take a bit to connect though, like 30 seconds or a bit less. But that's not unexpected. The EQ and sound settings look great on it, but I honestly haven't played with it, because everything sounds great on default settings.Overall this is an excellent replacement headunit, a huge upgrade over my old Atoto unit, and I've already used it for hundreds of miles and 3 different users, and it keeps working great!
