A great way to add wireless Android Auto or CarPlay to a car that only has wired CarPlay

Quite straightforward plug and play way to replace an older car's Apple CarPlay interface (especially if you want wireless Android Auto or wireless Apple CarPlay). For example, my Toyota Corolla 2020 has Apple CarPlay but not Android Auto, and the built in navigation system got scrapped a couple years ago and no longer works. You can use this to plug into the USB and trick your car into thinking it's Apple CarPlay, but instead you get a decent little OS interface with quite a few basic options, and you can easily connect your phone wirelessly to it for Android Auto (or wireless Apple CarPlay apparently). For a bit over a year I used CarLinkIt 4.0 to try to do this with Android Auto. It worked for almost a year, but for the last few months it's had HORRIBLE lag on the maps (so much that you couldn't even navigate with them) and the manufacturer stopped supporting it so it became almost entirely worthless. So when I saw this from Atoto, and I've already used one of their headunits in my other vehicle for 4 years, I figured it was worth a try. I'm VERY HAPPY I took the chance on this. Android Auto works perfect, no lag, just runs smoothly, and connects at about the same speed (can take like 20-30 seconds it feels like). But it brought functionality back to my Corolla's headunit and I'm very happy about that. Just does what it's supposed to. The resolution / font size, etc, of it does seem a bit bigger than my old one (the CarLinkIt), so it doesn't display quite as much on the screen at once - you can see in the photos. But at least it works, and it works great, so that's not a big deal. The one challenge we've had so far (using it for about 2 months) is that there's no really easy way to hook up a second phone, especially if both phones are in the car (or in the vicinity of the car) at the same time - it doesn't automatically connect well at that point. Maybe we still need to fiddle with that part (if we're bouncing between users), but hey, so far it works excellent overall.
