Completely surpassed my expectations

I was not expecting this to be so good. It appeared to be run of the mill, but what caught my eye was the QLED screen. And it didn't disappoint. It is wonderfully bright in broad daylight and the colors are vivid and captivating. I was also unaware or didn't really pay attention that the screen has an anti-reflective coating that truly works. It looks and feels amazing. The build quality is fantastic and looks like there was a lot of thought put into the design. The power connector is interesting, but I welcome it. I never knew that these could be wired this way. At first, I thought the short cable hanging off the back of the screen was a microphone. But, to my surprise, it is a multi-pin power/data cable. The cool thing about this is that once you have it plugged in, your port for android auto and your aux port are now down with the 12v plug. That way, if you decide to run the audio through aux, you don't have to have two cables draping down the dash. I think this is so clever and innovative. There's two USB ports on the power plug. One is for Android Auto and the other is for charging another device. The only downside I can see with this power cable setup is that it makes it hard for a clean install. The other screen I replaced was power by a USB-C port so I was able to run the cable along the windshield and dash and hard wire it into the fuses on the side of the dash. That's not going to be possible with this. I tried to see if the two USB-C ports on the back could power the unit, but they didn't. I guess one is for data and the other is for the optional camera. I guess there may be adapters to tap into the 12v fuse, but that's a little too much for me.Even with that drawback, I can't recommend this enough. I wish they had larger sizes or will come out with larger sizes because this 7" is fantastic. I will still choose this smaller, better screen over a larger one that's poorer quality.Oh, and the wireless CarPlay connection is almost instant and extremely stable. I don't think there's a time that my other screen booted up instantly and connected as fast as this one. I mean, it's ready to go before I even get my seatbelt buckled. Again, you can tell a lot of thought went into this device. The auto-brightness is very sensitive and responsive. I was driving tonight and the screen was perfectly dim. When I pulled into the gas station, it brightened the screen to the perfect brightness for that parking lot. I was impressed. If you can't tell, I really like this device a lot. I can't recommend it enough. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!

I really am pleased with having "new tech" in my older car

I have a paid-for 2004 vehicle that I keep maintained and it just keeps on running - why would I want to trade it in for a new car and have a monthly payment??? I was wanting to "upgrade" my car's tech so that when I'm trying to drive to a new place, I didn't just have to listen to my phone tell me when to turn and all that. I wanted to be able to SEE the map while hearing the directions, too! That's what people with newer cars have...but now I do too!!! This works great and was so easy to install - none of that pulling out the radio (and in the case of my car, the whole radio/cassette player piece) and figuring out what plugs to pull from the old and where it goes in a new "drop in" type even if it works and might not...this literally was a plug and play kind of new tech for my car and once I was able to sync my phone to this unit, I was good to go! Pleased with it soiunds rather bland, but I am very happy and smile every time I get in my car now, knowing I have pretty much what everybody else does with those brand new cars (and their monthly car payments). If you like your older car, this might be just what you need to update it. Try it - you'll be pleased with it too!
