Overall, the unit is pretty good for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. With those systems, the phone does all the "thinking" and the infotainment system just displays what the phone tells it to. This requires very little processing from the infotainment system. However, the experience is a bit worse when using the onboard apps... It is running Android, so there are plenty of apps to choose from. However, the CPU is on the low end and it is paired with just 2GB RAM, so it is underpowered in terms of hardware resource. It is usable, but it's not a consistently fast and smooth experience. That being said, the same can be said of many cars' built-in infotainment systems, and considering the price I guess the experience is ok.I haven't had issues with Wireless CarPlay, besides on very rare occasions it struggling to automatically engage. Manually closing and re-opening the app solves that issue. Protip - when installing this, try to position the wireless antennas so they are not behind the stereo... It is a bit fiddly process, but I think it is worth it. The stereo is a very dense component, so it impacts the signal quite a bit if its between the antenna and your phone.I do like the screen. The 720p resolution is perfectly adequate for this use case, and the screen is an IPS, so the viewing angles are good and it gets decently bright. The mic is also ok, people can hear me during calls without having to shout. Including an external mic that can be mounted closer would have been better though, and I would have preferred that extra instead of the OBD reader.The included OBD dongle and app are meh. They are quite generic, so don't expect comprehensive info or any advanced functions, it can just do the most basic things.The sound processing is also ok, the EQ is quite helpful to get a sound profile I like.
