I have been searching for a discount quality radio for quite a while. Almost all of them share similar specs and look to be made by the same parent company. This one was sold for 3 times the price of those but, the additional features listed, made it stand out as unique. Well, I ordered it and have not been disappointed. Decent instructions, easy to install and more feature than u will ever use. It’s set up to accept inputs from multiple devices and has every type of output you could need. In comparison to the cheap clones, this thing weighs at least 4times what they did. It’s solid, encased in metal, uses quality components and the screen is awesome. The software that is pre loaded is fine for me and the sound that the system puts out, is crystal clear and punchy. Cheap radios exaggerate the output power and features. This one doesn’t, it’s the real deal and can compare to the big brands easily. This was in investment and it seems to be a well. Hose one. You get what you pay for.FYI - I did not go over all of the features as they are listed already. As per what it is missing, it’s missing absolutely nothing!

let's start with the install. everything is pretty straight forward. the unit comes with everything you need to install this in either a single or double din configuration. the wiring harness has the wires clearly labeled which saves time with the install. after install the unit fired right up and during setup about 20 minutes later the unit went dark. totally unresponsive. yikes! i removed the unit and put it on the bench. the power and accessory leads on the truck all showed 12v. on the bench i could not get the unit to power up so i removed the wiring harness and did some tests (with the harness plugged back into the truck). the results were inconclusive. i contacted the seller through amazon. i got a response within 12 hours. rather than send the unit back, i asked them if they could just send me a new wiring harness to try that first. they agreed and sent me a new harness via fedex that arrived within days (nice support experience). after i installed the new harness on the bench the unit fired right up and is now installed and working as it should. in general, this is a nice unit. its loaded with features and offers a lot of adjustability in the audio, video and UI. it took a bit of searching to find the setting to get it to automatically connect to android auto (other units I've used default to carplay and android auto connection). once set up though i can't imagine anyone not liking this unit. based on the product and support i find this easy to recommend.

The radio itself is difficult to use due to its small size and lack of a touch screen; all controls are buttons. I found this 10.1" Android device with a floating screen from ATOTO while searching for an upgrade. There is enough space around my car's dash aperture, despite the fact that it is only double din in size, to fit a larger "floating" screen like this one. The electronics connections required for the steering wheel controls and the vehicle's fiber-optic amplifier connection, as well as a bezel that fits the dash, required me to buy a separate installation kit. Notable is the ATOTO S8 Ultra. The screen is enormous and has an amazing appearance. I appreciate that it can be adjusted. It is possible to modify the side-to-side angle, tilt, and vertical position. There are some dubious connections, but overall the wiring is quite normal for aftermarket radios. There are numerous inputs that should meet any purpose, as well as amplified and pre-amp outputs. In my instance, I connected the pre-amp outputs to the interface I purchased in order to translate the audio for the factory fiber-optic amplifier in the car. For typical din mounting, the S8 Ultra comes with a number of brackets and housing adapters. A compartment for filling in a double din mounting is also included. Before I put on my prescription specs, everything was fine. These days it is fairly common for lenses to be polarized. My phone the screens in my other automobiles and no other screens are giving me any trouble. However, when I use my sunglasses, the ATOTO S8 Ultra screen turns completely black. This was a problem when automobiles first started using LCD screens years ago, but it was soon resolved by utilizing a 45-degree screen polarization angle that was compatible with sunglasses' 90-degree polarization. It appears that ATOTO's developers did not adhere to this contemporary procedure, as evidenced by the fact that their screen is polarized precisely 90 degrees opposing my sunglasses. I had to tilt my head 45 degrees to see the screen. I will nearly always be wearing sunglasses because my automobile is a convertible roadster. This is a serious defect that cannot be tolerated in a product of this cost.

The S8 Ultra 10.1" head unit is a serious upgrade over stock systems especially those stock systems from the 90s or later which is the case for me. The QLED touchscreen is bright, sharp and easy to use. Wireless CarPlay connects quickly and works smoothly.Performance wise, it's impressive. With 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, apps load fast and run without hiccups. The sound quality is excellent with the DSP and SCVC especially if you have upgraded speakers. Dual Bluetooth and 4G capability are super convenient for multitasking and staying connected without relying on your phone data.I have yet to install the cameras but, as long as it works as advertised, I am excited to check out the dual cams that work for driving and parking, both front and rear.. they do not include cameras so I am waiting on those to show up before I can test it. Auto recording during parking with impact detection is a great feature, too.Only reason for 4 stars is installation can be tricky especially if you're not experienced with car audio systems (which I am) and the documentation could be clearer. Also, the interface takes a little getting used to where some menu options are buried and not intuitive right away.Still, once it’s up and running, it’s a powerhouse and the little issues start to fade away with time. Definitely worth the investment if you want to modernize your stereo system and enjoy advanced features.

Tried several models over the years, but this model stands out among the all for features and performance that is simply outstanding.
